WHAT IS RESEARCH ?
Research is simple term refers to search for knowledge or
information. It is a scientific and systematic search for
information on a particular topic or issue. It is also known as
the art of scientific investigation.
It is also refers systematic design, collection, analysis and the
reporting the findings and solutions for the particular
problem.

1) Exploratory Research :-
Exploratory research provides insights into an particular issue or
situation. The results of exploratory research are not usually useful for
decision-making by themselves, but they can provide significant insight
into a given situation.
2) Descriptive Research:-
Descriptive Research is also know as Statistical Research,
which describes the data and characteristics about the particular facts
( Population or Phenomenon) being studied . Simply stated, it is a fact
finding investigation. It answer the questions who, what, when, where,
why ?
3) Applied Research :-
Applied Research aims at finding a solution for an immediate problem
faced by any business organization. Applied research is considered as one of
the practical problem-solving technique.
4) Pure/Fundamental/Basic Research:-
Which deals with discover something new to enrich the human
knowledge. And it also deals with the development of some new theories and
principles.
5) Conceptual Research:-
This research is generally used by philosophers. It is related to some
abstract idea or theory. In this type of research, the researcher should collect
the data to prove his hypothesis.
6) Causal Research:-
Causal Research is conducted to determine the cause and effect
relationship between the two variable.
7) Historical Research:-
Historical research is a study of past records and data in order to
understand the future trends and development of the organization or
market. There is no direct observation. The research has to depend on the
conclusions or inferences drawn in the past.
8) Ex-post Facto Research:-
It is concern with examination of relationship that exists between
independent and dependent variable is studied. It is also called as
Empirical Research .
9) Action Research :-
It is the research , through which the researcher can launch a direct
action with the objective of obtaining workable solutions to the given problem.
In this type of research the solution will be identify through practical aspect but
not theoretical aspects.
10) Evaluation Research:-
This type of research is mainly used to evaluate the performance of
any planned activity. (Either it may be any project or Programmed)
