TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
To whom it may concern,
It gives us great pleasure to write this letter of reference for Ms. Sara Zendoli. She has
successfully completed her internship at the Information and Technology Solutions department
ofthe World Bank Group, Data Management Office. I had the good fortune to be her
supervising manager. She also worked with Dr. Dagobert Soergel, professor of information
studies at the University at Buffalo and a consultant to the World Bank.
She participated the following tasks, learning quickly and making very useful contributions:
• Refining the World Bank Ontology that was the basis for the WB Enterprise Data Hub.
This involved designing and populating a data base for the core ontology and for
mappings from the core ontology to XML tags and data fields in may World Bank data
systems.
• Documenting user experience in search, including user interviews, search activities
reviews etc.
• Reviewing a list ofkeywords to be used in automatic keyword assignment.
• Assembling information on ontology and taxonomy management software as a basis
for assessment.
Our team found her extremely inquisitive and hardworking. She was very much interested in
learning the functions of our core unit and willing to put forward her best efforts; she made
valuable contributions to our work deliverables. Her association with us was very fruitful and
we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Sincerely,
~p~~
