Mundy park located in coquitlam is part of
the public sector. Mundy park is known for
its new playground, long walking trials, dog
parks, lacrosse box, soccer fields, and
baseball or softball fields within lots of forest
areas. It is maintained by tax payers money
and the government. Everything is free
within the park. This could be be considered
recreational, coaching, and physical
education. With coaching there are lots of
teams that play on the fields here that
require coaching staff, and with physical
education there are lots of schools that come
here for school trips, kids that play on the
playground here day and night.
3. Public sector
Coquitlam Crunch
2635 Runnel Dr, Coquitlam
The Coquitlam Crunch is part of the public
sector. It is known for its long staircasing up
to the top of coquitlam with an amazing view
at the end. This is run off of tax payers
money and the government. This is also
considered to be recreational. It seeks
people who are active and want to complete
the task but still aimed that the general
public. The Coquitlam Crunch relates to
recreation as it promotes a healthy lifestyle,
and to use nature as a healthy environment
(Lunn, 2021).
4. Public sector
Poirier rec center
633 Poirier St, Coquitlam
This is a recreation public sector example
because most parts of rec centre's have easy
accessible public sport and leisure activity.
This comes from tax payers money,
sponsorships and donations (Lunn, 2021).This
rec center is located right by a high school,
library, another sport center, and a track
which shows more easy accessibility to
generate activity. Poirier provides an
opportunity for the community around to
stay fit, connect with others and grow. They
provide activities for all ages including
skating, swimming, yoga and a gym. This can
be related to coaching, recreation, and
physical education. The Rec center provides
lots of lessons for each sport they partake in
the area, promotes a healthy lifestyle and
educates kids in the lessons.
5. Public sector
Town Centre

Town centre is part of the public sector and is
known for their outdoor recreational services
(Lunn, 2021). It includes a track, many turf
and grass soccer fields, play ground, water
park, sand volleyball courts, basketball
courts, and skate park. This is aimed at the
general public trying to attract any sort of
physical activity. There is no fee for any
services it is payed for by tax money and the
government. Town center can relate to
coaching, and recreation. Coaching because
there are lots of teams who play games and
practice there. Lastly recreation because it
promotes a healthy lifestyle (Lunn, 2021).
6. Commercial sector
Club 16
265 Barnet hwy, Coquitlam
Club 16 is part of the commercial sector of
recreation and leisure because you must pay
for their services. They offer a bi weekly pay
for gym equipment, tanning beds and
massage chairs and if you really want they
offer personal trainers for even more money.
They generate lots of revenue from their
partner Trevor Linden, a former Cancucks
player and get lots of sponsorships from him
and his community. Club 16 markets to all
ages in the lower mainland and is decently
affordable to the general public. The positive
effects that Club 16 creates is job
opportunities and increased physical activity.
7. Commercial sector
BlackComb mountain
whislter, BC
BlackComb located in Whislter is in the
commercial sector based in recreation.
Blackcomb creates lots of job openings for
everyone around the world some being chair
lift operators, ski or snowboard lesson
coaches and lodge operators. This mountain
is profit oriented as it is very expensive and
climbing in price each year due to
competitors. Whislter targets the general ski
and snowbaord population in BC with all
ages going up and down those snowy hills.
This is connected to coaching and recreation
and whistler provides ski and snowboards
lessons for all ages.
8. Commercial sector
Grouse Grind
North Vancouver, BC
The Grouse Grind is part of the commercial
sector of recreation and leisure. The grind is
known for its 2.9km walk up a steep
mountain located in North Vancouver. This is
part of the commercial sector because is it a
business where people pay and the business
makes a profit off of them. This business
thrives off of people who are willing to
complete the challenge of making it all the
way to the top. The grouse grind continues
to beat other competitors as there is nothing
like the grouse grind and the amazing views
It has once you reach the top. This would be
considered a lesiure activity in nature (Lunn,
2021).

Orange theory

Orange theory is part of the commercial
sector. This gym is based off of their clients
and sponserships trying to make a profit
providing lots of job openings. Orange theory
is part of coaching and recreational.
Coaching because during your hour long
session you are being taught by a
specalized instructor in a group. This would
be within the indoor commercial recreational
(lunn, 2021). Orange Theory cliental is based
off of individuals who are willing to complete
the hour long session pushing yourself to
your limits.
10. Voluntary sector
Metro ford soccer club
coquitlam, BC
Metro Ford soccer is a club located in
Coquitlam for boys and girls soccer
competing in high and low levels of soccer.
During the season it is all voluntary based for
the coaching, they dedicate their time to the
game. There is no profit made off the club all
money rasied or fees to join goes towards
new equiptment or to pay for the refs and
sideline runners. This club is aimed at boy
and girl students in school within the
coquitlam district. There is lots of fundraising
involved within the club as uniforms, bags,
and tournments can turn out to be very
expensive. This service sector is based on
coaching and recreation. Metro ford strives
for "quality and development" (metro ford,
2021).
11. Voluntary sector
pinetree wolds basketball
coaching program
3000 pinewood ave, coquitlam
This is an example of the voluntary sector
because it is non profit, all voltunteering.
This is a highschool grade 10 basketball team
located at pinetree secondary where I am
the coach of the girls team. This year we are
replying on the help of parents and other
students to keep our program growing for
the future. In past years we have fund rasied
for hoodies and warm up shirts but
completing that this year has been hard due
to covid. This is connected to physical
educational coaching as I am completing the
task of providng students with the basic
knowledge of basketball and hopefully
helping them develop future skills. With
school basketball, the volunteers are either
parents or teachers or future teachers
12. Voluntary sector
Coquitlam Minor Hockey
coquitlam, BC
Coquitlam Minor hockey is another part of
the voluntary sector as it relies on the
volunteers of coaching, and score keepers.
This hockey club is focused more on the boys
but each year more girls come out to play.
The hockey club is aimed at coaching and
recreation. With coaching there are many
coaches who participate in the club who are
the ones that are able to keep it running
each year, they play a cruical role in voluntary
sports (Davies, 2004). Lastly recreation
because it enforces the idea of a heathly
lifestyle (Lunn, 2021).
