• A Government backed, long-term, tax-free saving instrument.
• Any one can have one PPF account.
• Minimum Deposit Rs.500/- and Maximum Rs. 1.5 lakhs in a F.Y.
• Rate of Interest – 7.1% p.a. (compounded yearly and always better rates than FDs)
• IncomeTax rebate u/s 80C
• Maturity – After completion of 15yrs of account opening
• Can be extended for further block of 5 years and so on (within one year of maturity)
• 50 % withdrawal permitted after expiry of 5 FY from opening of account
• If Rs.10,000/- invested monthly @ 7.10% for 15 years.
