EXPERIENCE
APPLE INC. | SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN
Jun 2016 - Sep 2016 | San Francisco, CA
• As a member of the Siri Search team, developed FeedbackVisualizer, a tool
which visualizes user activity and server decisions, in the Spotlight and Safari
apps on iOS and macOS, and displays relevant information on a set of timelines.
• Built a Feedback index, storing feedback sessions and citations to those
sessions, allowing users to retrieve relevant feedbacks based on a set of criteria
like search terms and size and visualizing them on the FeedbackVisualizer.
TESCO HSC | SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Aug 2014 – Mar 2015 | Bangalore, India
• Contributed to the development and testing of
the Transport API, unifying the delivery options of the various
services offered by Tesco, in order to reduce delivery times and costs.
• Built an analytical dashboard by collecting,
analyzing and visualizing the transport data of Tesco’s delivery vans
and grocery stores, to investigate the stores with delivery issues.
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC | SOFTWARE ENGINEERING INTERN
Jan 2014 – May 2014 | Bangalore, India
• Designed, developed and integrated a theme editor to provide
customizability for ‘Imagine’, a human machine interaction
IDE.
RESEARCH
SUSTAINABLE ENGINEERING LAB | COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
Jan 2016 – Present | New York, NY
Undertaking a quantitative comparison of widely available geo-spatial population
models, such as LandScan, WorldPop and CIESIN GPWv4, to provide insight into
population density and settlement patterns, especially in parts of North-West
Nigeria.
PROJECTS
INDUCED SEISMICITY IDENTIFIER
Mar 2016 – May 2016
Taking the USGS stream of earthquake data along with active injection wells data for
the US, a NodeJS web server identifies an earthquake as either man-made or natural,
based on temporal and spatial factors.
TWEET-MAP
Oct 2015 – Nov 2015
Real time sentiment analysis and visualization of stream of Twitter data, filtered by a
set of keywords and displaying the trends and locations, for a set of categories.
INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEM
Sep 2015 – Oct 2015
Implemented an information retrieval system that exploits user-provided relevance
feedback to improve the search results returned by Bing. The relevance feedback
mechanism is described in Singhal: Modern Information Retrieval: A Brief Overview,
IEEE Data Engineering Bulletin, 2001.
