1. Bid Manager Job – Rail Rolling Stock – Ref No 1212-6
Bid Manager Job for an experienced Rail Rolling Stock Engineer with a background
in Bidding for Rolling Stock Installation and Refurbishment work.
Salary c£40k per annum, plus Company Car, Contribution to Pension, 25 Days
Holiday per year. .
Commutable from Bishops Stortford, Braintree, Bury St Edmonds, Cambridge,
Epping, Harlow, Huntingdon, Letchworth Garden City, Newmarket, Royston,
Stevenage, St Neots, Thetford, Welwyn Garden City.
Our client is looking for a Commercial Engineer to manage the Bid process to a
successful conclusion for projects involved in the installation of equipment into Rail
Vehicles and Locomotives.
The skills and experience we’re seeking are
 A commercially grounded Engineer with experience in working in a TOC
(Train Operating Company), Rolling Stock Vehicle Builder or Refurbishment
company.
 A track record in developing proposals, to provide solutions in relation to,
modifications, enhancements, and mini refurbishments to Rail Vehicles and
Locomotives
 Experience of cost and bidding process from thousands to ½ million GBP
 An understanding of the issues experienced on Rolling Stock installation
projects
 Able to support the Sales function by establishing project requirements and
then compile and present a credible proposal
 Engineering management
 Worked with Rail certification and acceptance bodies

engineering support to the Bid process and to drive the tender through to a
successful conclusion.

East area (Car provided or Mileage Allowance in line with HMRC rates). You will also
