Factual development and planning pro forma.pptx

  1. 1. Factual: Idea Development and Planning Ben Brown
  2. 2. Mood board I chose the pictures of John Snow, his memorial, the Horrible Histories interview, York historian and reenactors because I took inspiration from Snow and his water pump memorial to make a web-series piolet about him and I chose the interview, historian and reenactors as they all relate to my product of interviewing historians and reenactors pretending to be in the past. I chose the pictures of the Sweeny Todd set, Christmas Carol series set and Peaky Blinders set because I take inspiration from them to set certain segments of my project in the past after seeing how good they did it. John Snow Sweeny Todd (set in 1846) behind the scenes set Water pipe John Snow memorial Horrible Histories interview set in the past Horrible Christmas Carol series (set in 1843) behind the scene set York Historian Reenactors Peaky Blinders (set in 1919) behind the scenes set
  3. 3. Content: • My content story will be a web-series piolet about John Snow and his discovery of water born tuberculosis, it will be filmed in a Victorian setting and have interviews from historians and reenactors. My other contents will be; a black and white title card, old timie sound effects, images of John snow and his discoveries of tuberculosis, film graphics that are edited to look black and white and old timie music Victorian music. I will structure these by; having the story and Victorian setting be the central part of the project with historian and reenactor interviews appearing at key points in the plot, the black and white title card will appear at the beginning of the project, the old timie sound effects will play any time a person makes a sound, images will appear at certain points when explaining Snow’s history, the black and white film graphics will be the quality of all the film footage and the old timie music will play through out the project as well. The best methods to appeal to my target audience would be having everything made exactly historically accurate but have the dialogue and film quality made in more recent ways (make the characters speak how week speak nowadays and film everything with the newest and best cameras instead of a real black and white projector).
  4. 4. Planning: • Organizational Docks: For health and safety I will film the scenes in quite places at quite times so my actors and staff aren’t swarmed and trampled on by people and I will have securely fashioned filming equipment, so it won’t fall over and hurt someone. On my working days and weekends not in college, I will first film the interview that I’ll set up and then film the rest of the footage after that because my project is heavily reliant on the interview, I’ll then edit it in college time. My contingency plan will be finding another person from York Trust to interview if the original one isn’t available and I’ll get my neighbors to be my actors if my original actors aren’t available, I will use one of my many spare iPads if my original one doesn’t work and finally, I will film my scenes in areas of college for my scenes if the places in York are too busy. My contributors will be me, my mum, my dad and the person from York Trust I will interview. • Clearance Forms: While the form and its responses are inaccessible, I remember the questions were; are you available on the weekend or Monday and Tuesday are you fine with being filmed, are you fine with answering questions in long detail and are you fine with filming in front of the John Snow memorial? The interviewee said that he was available on the weekend, he was fine being filmed, he was fine with answering questions in long detail, but he couldn’t leave his place of work so filming in front of the Snow memorial wasn’t an option.
  5. 5. Production Schedule: • My production schedule first focus on filming the interview, on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of the first week of production, and in my college time, I’ll edit everything throughout the weeks of production. I’ll film the rest of the project in order in the second week filming the intro in my four days off. I’ll then film the flash backs of the past in the other production weeks on my days off, I’ll edit anything left over with what time I have left. • I intend to make my project by setting it in the present, but it goes back in time showing John Snow’s life throughout most of the project. After I film the interview, I’ll film the project in order starting with the modern-day segments and then I’ll film the past scenes after, I’ll use an iPad to film it all but change the filter to black and white for the parts of the project set in the past with the sound effects and music taken from old sources (like music released in the 1910s). • I will need to collect various props for the project because it’ll take a lot of effects to make the past segments look like their set in the 1820s. The props I need to collect are: top hats, bolar hats, flower hats, tuxedos, dresses, canes, fake moustaches, fake beards, pocket watches, horses and wagons.
