1. FMP 2 Diary Week 11
I finished my project this week by filming the second half of the opening scene
and I continued to make improvements to it, the whole filming and editing went
well, but because I put too much music and too many sound effects in iMovie
some sound effects were difficult to hear. I had to overcome two problems this
week which were my actor’s impatience and that my audio kept on going
silent. My dad didn’t like being dressed up as a woman in the cold night so he
tried to get the opening scene done as quickly as possible. I overcame this
problem by using my shot-list and storyboard to make an organised schedule to
get the filming done quickly and efficiently. I also had a lot of music and sound
effects crammed together resulting in some sound effects not making any
sound. I overcame this problem by duplicating the sound effects and deleting
the obsolete ones. The opening scene went particularly well because the scene
went quicker than I expected and it was so organised that I was able to get all
the shots I required and they all fit my artistic vision. I filmed the opening scene
at night and put filters over it to make it even more dark. I re-edited the footage
to make the scenes look more suspenseful and I added sound effects and music
to create a more mysterious and unsettling atmosphere. I’m going to move
forward by not having as many sound effects and music so my film won’t crash
but still have enough to match it with footage to make the perfect scary
atmosphere. The strengths of my project are I made a successful suspenseful
opening scene but the weaknesses were I’ve added too much to iMovie so it
caused the music and sound effects to stop. My plan for next time is to add a
narration to my project and finish improving the minor details in my project to
make it perfect and professional. My problems with the music influenced my
ideas to change the music in the opening, and this changed my ideas to put it
into the start of the project to create a unique atmosphere.
