6. EQUIPMENTS OF CRITICAL CARE UNIT
DEFIBRILLATOR
PHILIPS DFM 100 DEFIBRILLATOR
• used on both adult and infant/child patients for defi
brillation, monitoring, synchronized cardioversion or
pacing.
•An optional AED mode (including infant/child AED
capability)
• Optional parameters (SpO2, NBP, EtCO2) for
continuous monitoring of patient vital signs
•deliver upto 150J shock within 5 seconds – using the
SMART biphasic therapy
OPERATIONAL CHRCK:
Pads or Paddles attatched to the therapy cable.
ECG cable is attatched.
Therapy Knob is turned to Monitor.
Operational Check is selected and the Menu
Select button is
pressed. Run Operational Check is
selected and the Menu Select
button is pressed
7. DIALYSIS MACHINE:
FRESENIUS 4008S DIALYSIS MACHINE
• Single-needle or single-needle click-clack,
ultrafiltration and sodium profiles
•The automated acquisition, monitoring
• Monitoring of dialysis dose by OCM (Online
clearance monitoring and plasma sodium
measurement)
• Use of hygienic, dry bicarbonate concentrate,
single-needle method and connection for central
concentrate supply.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS:
Done from the company end.
Emergency breakdown and pre – use checks
done by biomedical engineer after every 24
hours
Things to be checked before use:
•Dialyzer
•Sample line
•Concentrated solution flow
•All tubings
•Venous pressure
•O-Rings
8. EQUIPMENTS OF RADIOLOGY UNIT
X_RAY MACHINE
SIEMENS MULTIMOBIL 2.5
• High-quality images every day in mobile X-
ray imaging
• High power output of 16 kW/250 mA
(optional: 20 kW/300 mA)
• Minimum exposure time ≤ 4 ms for reduced
motion blurring
• Consistent image quality
• Makes it easy to bring mobile X-ray imaging
to the patient
ULTRASOUND MACHINE
•GE Logiq P5
•Lightweight console ultrasound machine.
•Ideal for OB/GYN, vascular, venous,
abdominal and other general imaging needs.
•It also features solid 4D OB/GYN imaging
•Include Speckle Reduction Imaging,
•Offers high quality B-Mode and Doppler
Imaging with
•Allows to acquire three-dimensional images in
real time to reveal the smallest anatomical
details with stunning image clarity.
COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY
MACHINE
SIEMENS SOMATOM DEFINITION
•The scanner can perform a scan of the entire
heart in just 250 milliseconds, less than half
a heart beat, the scanner can image hearts
with a fast pulse or an irregular beat
•Less radiation dose
•Increased contrast
•High image quality

13. I gained a lot from this training. It helped me to enhance my knowledge
regarding the various equipments that are being used in the medical field in
modern times. Advancement in the Bio Medical Instrumentation is one of the top
technological advancements in this world. Many new technologies are still being
under experimental phases and further studies are still going on. In coming
future we are assured that the level of advancements in this field is going to be
such that people will be just amazed about beautiful interaction between a
machine and human body. With this advancements the responsibilities of
clinical engineers are also increasing.
