• A French fashion designer
• He didn’t have training in being a fashion
designer, instead he started off by sending
sketches to famous couture stylists
• Many of Gaultier’s collections were focused on
street wear and popular culture
• He also designed costumes for films

3. Fall 2012 – Tattoo design clothing
For my second costume, I was
thinking about how I could design
my top that goes under the corset.
I quite liked the
idea of maybe
creating my own
tattoos specially
for Scaramouche,
as tattoos are
seen to be
rebelious.

inspiration from Chinese
culture: Chinese dragons and
the Chinese style of drawing.

5. Real Chinese Dragon Tattoos
Gaultier’s designs are more elegant and
delicate, compared to these.

6. Tattoo Ideas
I’ll definitely create a Chinese dragon
tattoo, but I was also thinking of
creating skull and rose tattoos: Roses
referring to love (relating to
Scaramouche’s song ‘Somebody to
Love’), and skulls referring to
Scaramouche’s Gothic and rebellious
personality.
