18. How to Connect your Profile
to a Company Page
When LinkedIn members add or edit a position on their profile, they can specify and link a company
page to that position in their profile.
If they select an existing company from LinkedIn’s list, they will automatically show up on that
organization's Company Page.
Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
1. Click View profile.
2. Scroll down to the Experience section and click the Edit icon next to the position you want
to update the company for.
3. Click into the Company text box and type in the name of the correct company.
4. Select the company from the pre-existing dropdown menu that appears.
5. Click Save in the bottom right corner of the page.

19. Be an ALL STAR on LinkedIn
In order to appear higher up in searches, your profile should rank as an “ALL STAR.”
This means your profile, at a minimum, needs to includes the following:
» Your industry/sector and your business postal code;
» A current position with a description;
» Two more positions (either current or previous);
» Your education;
» At least 5 skills;
» A professional profile photo (help people find you easily); and
» Has at least 50 connections.

PRO TIP:
To find out if your profile ranks as an “All-Star”, click on
“Profile” on the top menu on the left-hand side. Your profile
ranking is shown as a partially/almost filled circle on the top
right of your profile page.

People hire you and refer clients to you
because of your expertise. It makes sense to
highlight your expertise in an ethical manner
when you’re able. Doing so increases the
likelihood that you’ll be retained.
LinkedIn offers you a number of ways to do
this. Include a descriptive summary and
your areas of practice in your bio.
Share relevant and helpful insights, articles,
blog posts, presentations, videos, and
photos.
You are adding value to your network by
spreading excellent quality information, and
you’re also driving traffic to your profile.

22. Skills, Endorsements and Recommendations
When a successful case wraps up
and your clients are flying high on
a win, this is a perfect time to “ask
for a recommendation”
You may give one or ask for one,
and any given to you will be help
until you approve them to be
posted so no need to worry about
bad press on your own profile!
You can also be endorsed for
Skills that you list on your profile
and they can be very specific to
showcase your specific expertise.
