4. Mehmet Akif Ersoy was a poet,writer,
politician and the AUTHOR of the
TURKISH NATIONAL ANTHEM.
5. His famous work Safahat, a collection
of 44 poems, was published in 1911.
His poems were themed with social
problems and religious issues.
6. In 1921, a national anthem
competition was organized. Mehmet
Akif didn’t attend the competition first,
because achievements of the nation
could not be praised with money.
7. Hundreds of poems entered the
competition but they had no potential
to become a national anthem so an
invitation letter was written to Mehmet
Akif . Mehmet Akif changed his
decision and wrote the anthem.
8. On March 12, 1921, the Turkish Grand
National Assembly declared Ersoy's
poem as the national anthem.
He donated all the money.
12. He was a Sufi saint, a philosopher, and a poet who wrote 20
books.
13. Ahi Evran played an important role in
the establishment of Ahi organization.
The word “AHİ” means open-handed,
generous and my brother.
The aim of Ahi organızation is to
make a person to have proffessıon
and gain professional ethics.
14. In addition to its economic and
commercial activities , Ahi
Organization had also military and
political power and it played an active
role in establishing Ottoman Empire.
15. According to the Ahi principles, an Ahi
person must always have an occupation..
He must be generous .He must be honest
, be modest and not to be greedy. He
must help the poor.
16. Ahi organization,, continued during the
Ottoman period; and then with our Republic,
our tradesmen's organizations keep Ahi-Order
Culture alive because there is a sense of
quality production, honest work and fair trade
in this culture.
17. Every year,in the third week of
September , Ahi – Order Culture Week
is celebrated in Turkey.
18. You can see the name of Ahi Evran in some of the
schools,at one of the university or in some streets or
parks.
Our school has taken his name, too.
19. SEGMENLER
A Seymen; Efe means valiant( brave) and
horseman. They have their own unique clothes
and ways of dressing.
. The "Seymen Tradition",, has been kept alive in
Ankara for centuries..
20. Our Seymen celebrate the special days of Ankara
with their magnificent shows on October 13
(Becoming Ankara the capital) and December 27
(Atatürk's first arrival in Ankara) and also on all our
national days.
21. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk,, was greeted by the
Seymen when he first arrived in Ankara.
