This document discusses the differences between standard definition and high definition video resolutions, with standard definition being 480i and high definition being 720p or 1080p. It explains that Adobe Premier Pro allows editing and exporting videos in both standard and high definition formats. The document also notes that the export format should match the requirements of the intended website, and provides examples of MOV and AVI formats, with AVI generally being more compatible.
2. Standard Definition
• Standard definition or SD is a type of
resolution. A resolution is the number of
pixels displayed on a screen. Standard
definition tends to be 480i.
3. High Definition
• High definition or HD is a much higher
resolution than any SD resolution and is most
commonly 720p or 1080p
4. Adobe Premier Options
• Adobe Premier Pro has many different
resolution options, both SD and HD including
720p and 1080p.
• Changing the resolution will give you either a
clearer (HD) or blurrier (SD) image.
5. Different ways to export
• On Adobe Premier you are able to export in
many different formats depending on the
website you wish to use e.g. YouTube or
Vimeo.
6. To export
• To export to a certain website it must be in the
website format when exporting. For example
there are different formats for both YouTube
and Vimeo.
7. MOV and AVI
• MOV was developed by Apple for their
applications such as Quicktime whereas AVI
was developed by Microsoft for their media
player.
• AVI tends to be more compatible than MOV
and is used much more.
