When you create content, don’t think
like brand but more like a user and
what you would you like to see from
your brand.
That’s how you show that you really
care about your fans. And you can do
that by giving useful tips for your
fans’ everyday problems,
representing at the same time your
brand’s values.

Most fans create a facebook account
in order to express themselves, their
ideas and to communicate with
others.
So, what you have to do, is to create
content that expresses them, that
suits their passions and helps them
identify themselves in your brand.
That’s how you share your content
through your fans. Share something
that you would also share as an
individual.

Don’t schedule all your posts, based
on a schedule. You can always have
a content calendar for your product
posts or event posts, but it’s best for
users to know and communicate
what’s happening right now,
creating buzz.
A good example is Oreo’s instant
post “You can still dunk in the
dark”, referring to Superbowl’s
unexpected blackout.
You can even use your mobile phone
to create content, this helps you
catch the moment.

Be one of your fans. Think of what
you would like to see from a brand
and why you would like a facebook
page.
Think that the best content is the
user-generated content, so make
sure to start an inspiring
conversation for your fans, so to
create content for your brand.

I’m sure that no one on Facebook
expects from a brand to share its
concerns, but to share creative,
useful and funny content.
I choose 9gag as an example. Of
course you can’t fit this kind of
content on a brand with a more
formal character, but you can spice
up your content a little bit.

One of today’s trends is sharing
experiences of the past. So, create
content, or even applications which
help them share these kinds of
experiences. For example, an
application where they can share
their trips, with photos or timeline
highlights.

Create content and actions for things
that really matter and help people
with their everyday problems, by
making their life easier.
Think of actions like Pepsi’s Refresh
Project and you’ll see that the fans,
by themselves, start a conversation
and share your content just to help
and support a purpose, that really
deserves to.

When users look for information on
Google, they know that no-one is
looking at them and that no-one will
ever find out what they searched for.
But when someone shares something
on Facebook, they know that their
friends will see the post.
So, create quality content if you want
your fans to share it proudly and not
click the Cancel button on the share
dialog pop-up.

That’s how you show that you really care about your fans. And you can do that by giving useful tips for your fans’ everyday problems, representing at the same time your brand’s values. 8

You can even use your mobile phone to create content, this helps you catch the moment. 12
