What type of manager does it take to really drive a project
forward? What do you call a manager who confronts risks and
issues instead of merely managing them? One who imbues the
team with a vision and leads them to success?
Project managers who excel in this way have adopted the
Entrepreneurial Mindset. They have a personal stake in the
projects they manage and they are driven to see their projects
succeed. Like other entrepreneurs, they are drawn to opportunity,
innovation and new value creation - and are willing to take calculated
risks and can accept and deal objectively with change and uncertainty.
As a leader they get the “big picture” but they also know how to build a
team that will sweat the details.
Our 2015 PDD will explore the special skills of the
Entrepreneurial Project Manager. Frank Wander, the
CEO of PeopleProductive.com, and former Guardian
Life CIO, will share his thoughts on what this means
for today’s project managers. We will learn about how
we can develop that leadership mindset for the
projects we manage and how we can socialize
entrepreneurship into our organizations to build lasting project success.
