3. 2008
- father was teacher and ran girls´ school in village
- Malala loved school, then the Taliban took control of their town in
Swat Valley
- they banned things/said girls could no longer go to school
- Malala had to leave this school in January 2008 with just 11 years

4. 2012
- Malala first spoke out publicly on girls and their right to learn
- made her target
- in October 2012, on way home from school, masked gunman
boarded schoolbus and shot her left side of head after asking,
who Malala was
- woke up 10 days later in hospital in Birmingham, England
- doctors said people around the world were praying for her
recovery

5. 2014
- after months of surgeries she joined familiy in new home in U.K.
- she knew she had a choice between living a quiet life and
continuing fight until every girl could go to school
- with father, she established Malala Fund, a charity dedication
to give every girl an opportunity to get 12 years of free, safe,
quality education
- recieved Nobel Peace Prize in December 2014
- became youngest-ever Nobel laureate

6. 2018
