Corporate Announcement
We are very proud to announce that our CEO, Dimitris Tsigos, is
now a member of the Board at EBAN (The European Trade
Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and other Early Stage
Market Players)!
EBAN (a non-profit organization) is the representative in Brussels,
through direct and indirect membership, of more than 250 business angel
networks in Europe. These in turn federate some 20.000 angels, and
receive about 40.000 business plans a year. EBAN brings together more
than 100 member organizations in 27 countries today. It reaches out to
300 groups, 20.000 angels and 40.000 entrepreneurs. It was established in
1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the
collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA.
A great opportunity for entrepreneurs in Greece
Dimitris’ presence at the EBAN Board appears to be a great opportunity
for Greece and for domestic entrepreneurs, as it is expected to help attract
angel investments to the local market. Also, with respect to the fact that
EBAN is officially recognized by the European Union when in talks for
important current issues like risk financing, Greek entrepreneurs and
investors will now be able to communicate their ideas, concerns and
views straight to decision points of Europe.
At this point, it is useful to underline that Dimitris Tsigos is President of
YES – European Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (yes.be) and also
President of the Hellenic Startups Association (http://hellenicstartups.gr/).
