As we mark our 30th year in business, we're reminded of the constant lessons and wise wisdom we've heard and developed over the years. Since a 30th anniversary is marked by the precious pearl, we'd like to share some of our own pearls of wisdom.
2. They say wisdom comes with age.
So, with thirty years of business under our belts, we'd like to
offer some pearls of wisdom. We asked our team members and
business partners to share the lessons and advice they've
gathered during their time at Stern Strategy Group so we could
share the wealth of knowledge. Enjoy!
3. BEING HEARD
IT'S ALWAYS BEEN AT THE ROOT OF OUR
BUSINESS. FIND THE NEW CREATIVE WAYS
TO FILL THE SPACE BETWEEN YOUR
MESSAGE AND TARGET AUDIENCE OR FANS.
PEARL #1
5. THIS BUSINESS REQUIRES BOTH LEFT AND
RIGHT-BRAINED THINKING. USE BOTH
SIDES OF YOUR BRAIN FOR SUCCESS.
PEARL #3
6. Just when you think you’ve figured out
the solution to a nagging issue, the game
changes. Accept that life is filled with
challenges and change. Stay centered.
PEARL #4
7. Be forever curious and don’t resist
experimentation. That crazy idea you’re
afraid to share could be the solution the
team’s been looking for.
PEARL #5
8. When I think about how our
industry has moved toward
infographics, video and
other visual tools, I’m
reminded of a Walt Disney
quote - “Of all our inventions
for mass communication,
pictures still speak the most
universally understood
language.”
PEARL #6
11. The media landscape is forever-changing and you have to roll
with the punches, but keep in mind that the strongest platforms
will always take a stance.
PEARL #9
12. All you have is your
reputation. Never
compromise on ethics,
quality of work or service.
PEARL #10
14. PEARL #12
Data isn’t everything. Listen to your instincts and
include them in your decision making process.
15. PEARL #13
“What’s the worst that can happen?”
Ask yourself this question whenever faced with a business problem. It
helps keep your emotions in check.
17. PEARL #15
Open, honest communication is
critical to success. Learn to
express your feelings and needs
in a constructive, non-threatening
way. Don’t harbor resentment.
20. As we celebrate our 30th year in
business, follow us on social
media for more pearls of wisdom.
