SITE AGENT: Walker Construction (UK) Ltd (cut & carve refurbishments, new builds and civil)
No1 responsible from pre start through to completion of a £2.2m strip out and refurbishment and new
build extension for a Blue Flag project for Westminster City Council.
The strip out and refurbishment was to a much loved, live listed two storey pavilion with offices,

The large new build was to complement the existing building by being traditional build and consisted of
four larger wet changing areas, reception, passenger lift, plant room, underground storage tanks and
installation of irrigation pumps and controls for an international standard hockey pitch.
During this project we successfully secured many further works for Westminster City Council in and
around the park such as removing existing tarmac to 500Lm of 4m wide paths and re-surface, remove
500Lm of fencing and erect new metal railings, create areas with paving and landscaping and convert

This project was a strip out and refurbishment of two very large communal wet public changing rooms,
toilet and shower areas.
In this live listed building programming and notice was hourly critical to the centre to allow managed
public usage of available facilities.
We were also awarded several smaller works such as varied electrical fault finding and fixes, strip out
floor coverings and re-carpet or vinyl main corridors, carry out surveys for the Council on various parts

Installations Manager for Channel Windows
This was a busy Kent based company installing Commercial glazing for retail, hospitals, MOD and local
councils under the Decent Homes Scheme and similar to other companies in this field they installed double
glazing and conservatories direct to the public. My duties were to survey approx. 70% of the work, order the
many varied products from different manufacturers and manage the nine fitting teams and one snagging
team on a daily basis.
Feb 1998 to Aug 2001
Fenestration Surveyor (glazing) for Glaze UK
This was a medium sized double glazing company based in Edgware with fifteen fitting teams and work
covering all of London. As the only Surveyor, I would take the calls direct from the commercial and domestic
salesmen and book the survey time with the clients. I would then carry out the detailed surveys and order all
required materials for the installation teams.
Before 1998
Self-employed Carpenter/window fitter.
Working for companies such as Anglian and a few of the better known regional companies that held good
reputations I had built up my own good reputation for being able to take on the difficult and technical work in
schools, hospitals, MOD, retail, and domestic. I was known for carrying out my own surveys and would be
engaged more and more to carry out surveys on a regular basis for other companies. This led me to focus on
the more technical side of the work with less time on the tools until I was approached by Glaze UK to be their
surveyor.
Hobbies and interests:
I regularly play golf with my Son and friends.
Most forms of motor racing interests me.
