Project proposal title and date:
JS Fitness
Main area of activity:
The medium I will be working in will be the film and video production area.
Rationale:
Through the year I have done lots of projects that have helped me to make my choice for this
project. The projects have helped me to see my strong points and weak points and also what I
have enjoyed more than others. The project that I enjoyed the most (prior to the FMP) was the
music video project as I enjoy and specialise in video production and editing. Throughout the
project I learned more about video production and I could really show my strengths. I knew I
wanted to do an FMP with video production because that is where most of my strengths are and it
is also what I am passionate about. Studying editing and camerawork on the music video project
had the biggest impact on my choice for the FMP.
Project Concept:
The concept for my project is going to be promotional content for a personal training brand. I will
be creating a promotional video, a logo and a social media page for a client. The promotional video
will include features of the personal trainer doing their workout routine and it will show the different
exercises in detail to help the audience progress and to also draw them in and make them want to
buy the product. The logo will feature on the social media pages as a profile picture, and it will also
appear at the start and end of the video. This is to associate the logo with the brand and to grow
the brand and company. I will need to conduct lots of research to help me with my product. For
example, I will need to research different videos like workout montages and promotional
montages. This will help me to learn camera techniques and also editing techniques to make my
product the best that it can be. Another thing that I will need to research would be different
personal trainer logos and how they look. I would research this because it will help me to get an
idea of what style, fonts, colours and size they use so that I can make it as professional as
possible. Finally, I would also research social media pages and how they reach out to their
audience and what content they post to do this. This is vital in knowing what to post, how often and
what other techniques I can use. All of this research will help me develop my project and make it
as professional as I can.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan to evaluate my work during production by keeping a weekly diary. In this I will write about
what I have been doing, how I did it, how did it turn out and if there is anything I could have done
to improve it. Doing this will help me to keep a concise log about what I was doing and when so
that I can evaluate this after production. I plan to evaluate my work after production, by comparing
it to other existing products and seeing how mine compares and if it is professional and looks
good. I will also evaluate my time management and planning and see if any of these factors could
have affected my final product in a positive or negative way.
