Key events included EU approval in April 2017, FTC approval in May 2017, and the closing and first day of operations on June 3 and 4, 2017 respectively. The new company includes insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, and bioScience products. With pro-forma combined 2001 sales of €6.5 billion, it has the number one or two market position globally in many crop segments. Bayer CropScience aims to be the leading crop protection company through a focus on innovation, regional strengths, and an integrated business model.
