- 3. Base Set • 5 linemen, 2 Qb split center • Red/Green shows anticipated defensive alignment • Green: anticipated backfield coverage
- 4. Key Concepts • The JungleCat is built on mystery, power, and victory. • 2 QBs, QB 1 and QB 2 • “Blue” receivers • “Gold” receivers
- 5. Play Names • Formations are named by the target group of receivers running routes, their location, and the QB receiving the snap. • Shown routes are used to illustrate which receivers are blocking and which are going downfield and can be changed.
- 6. Playset #1A – Gold 1, Gold 2 • QB 1 or 2 receives snap, other QB blocks • Blue blocks • Gold run patterns • Basic 3 receiver set
- 7. Playset #1B – Blue 1, Blue 2 • QB 1,2 receives the snap • Other QB runs a pattern • Blue run patterns • Gold blocks • Basic 2 receiver set with slot receiver • QB option
- 8. #2A Blue 2 Option • Option to QB1 • Blue runs slants to opposite side of field • QB2 reads B – If B comes inside of gold, QB1 takes handoff to right of gold – If B goes outside, QB1 takes it up the middle – Gold can press left/right
- 9. Playset #2A – Gold Right 1 • QB1 receives snap • QB2, Blue block to create pocket on left side of field • Gold run routes • Gold 1 runs bailout to the left
- 10. Playset #2B Blue Left 2 • QB 2 receives the ball • QB1 runs a route • Blue run routes • Gold create pocket on right side of field • QB1 Has option
- 11. King of the Jungle • Use after several plays have been run out of the Jungle • QB1 motions to wide out position before snap • At snap, QB2 receives ball • Gold and Blue don’t move. They all block tight together – If your man gets past you, run a short bailout route to the sides • QB1 has 1 on 1 down sideline. • QB1 becomes King of the Jungle
