  3. 3. Monitoring Employee Performance and Work Hours Mid-Week Review Meetings  This will give a projection of how much work is done and much is to be done.  Frequency of problem discussion will minimize it to become problems more complicated.  Deterioration can be sensed early and hence it can be improved before it gets worse.
  4. 4. Motivating Employees Rewarding for Small achievements like not taking leaves, being punctual etc. Conducting small employee engagement programmes once a week. Rewarding the performers with titles like “Employee of the Month”. Providing appreciation letters to employees showing extra efforts. Giving quarterly or half-yearly monetary reward to extra-ordinary performers.
  5. 5. Ensuring Punctuality It is very important for any person to be punctual. Punishing delayed and unpunctual behaviour is more effective than rewarding the punctual behaviour. The punishment must be monetary and non-monetary. For eg:- a fine has to be paid along with deffering from some facility.
  6. 6. Incentives/Detterents  The good performing employees must be rewarded to keep them motivated. It encourages the employees to perform better.  Incentives create a sense of competition among employees to perform better.  On the other hand, punishing poor performers will also create a sense of fear in the minds of employee so that they perform their duties and responsibilities well and give their best efforts to achieve the goals.  It gives lesson to other employees that they will be punished for committing mistakes.
  7. 7. Conclusion  Time to time review is very much important for employees. Employees become aware that their efforts and mistakes both are being noticed contionuously.  Rewards and punishments both are equally important to keep employees motivated so that they perform better and better every time.  Small rewards an create big competition among employees encouraging them to perform better than others.
