Methods program
- 2. Executive Summary
⢠This program is developed to educate men in the 40 and up age range. Men todayÂ
donât quite understand the importance of eating right to provide the properÂ
nutrients to their bodies.
⢠This program will give men a chance to participate in physical activities providedÂ
by professional and inspirational athletes, be educated on how exactly to eat right,Â
see all of the negative side effects of not eating right, and receive possible ways toÂ
better their health.Â
⢠Menâs health is very important and I want to make it better for all because I wouldÂ
not want this to be a situation that affects people and causes them to lose closeÂ
family members due to improper eating.Â
⢠After participating in this program we are wanting to see men become educatedÂ
on proper nutrition and see that it is important for them to make sure they areÂ
physically active.Â
- 3. ďPurposeÂ
⢠The sole purpose of this program is to get the importance of nutrition and physicalÂ
fitness out there to elderly males. Many men are not aware of facts pertaining toÂ
nutrition due to focusing on other things (careers, entertainment, and improperÂ
eating.)Â
⢠The body relies on the nutrients it gets from food to keep it running smoothly andÂ
in good health. In today's society, the abundance of over processed, high-calorie,Â
low-nutrient foods is responsible for a range of illnesses and diseases.Â
⢠Most men look to their spouse to assist them in eating habits and all nutritionalÂ
facts that they should be focusing on as far as their health.Â
⢠Participants will be able to receive health manuals to guide them to eat right, waysÂ
to avoid all of the diseases caused by bad nutrition, examples of products thatÂ
could assist others like vitamins, protein shakes, and healthy snacks.
- 4. ďRisk factors
⢠Illnesses obtained due to improper nutrition consist of:
â Coronary Heart Disease- a narrowing of the blood vessels that carry oxygenÂ
and blood to the heart.
â High Blood Pressure- a measure of the force of blood produced by the heartÂ
as well as the condition of the arteries.
â Type 2 Diabetes- a disorder in which the blood has too much glucose in it thatÂ
the body cannot process.
â Cancer- Because poor nutrition causes the immune system to be weakened, aÂ
poor diet can often prohibit the body from fighting off certain types of cancers
â Obesity- a common problem in today's society, in which inactivity and poorÂ
diet is uncontrolled.

- 6. ďNeeds Assessment
⢠The foods you eat provide the proper energy your body needs in order to function. Itâs veryÂ
similar to batteries needing to be charged or cars needing to be gassed; your body needs toÂ
be fed energy-providing foods every day.
⢠The body is full of so many needed and very important components that assist in producing aÂ
healthy individual. Therefore it is only right to be in-taking the proper products.         Â
⢠Males in the age range of 40-65 years of age are the most important to be receiving thisÂ
education. Research shows that this is a need in all populations of the United States becauseÂ
it is something that all people fight at one point and time in their lives.Â
⢠When men who work as contractors, painters, lawn workers, or any other career thatÂ
physical work is being done, hunger develops. As hunger comes, the intent to just eat foodÂ
comes to mind but proper nutrition is not always what is chosen to be taken in.Â
⢠Dealing with any of the risk factors (diseases) of bad nutrition would overall cause economicÂ
differences.Â
- 7. ďGoals and Objectives
⢠Goal â Our mission is to educate as many individuals as possible of theÂ
importance in knowing all about proper nutrition so that they could liveÂ
healthy lives to avoid all possible sicknesses due to bad nutrition.
â Objective- Participants will rotate through stations in this program to gainÂ
education about many important health aspects.

activity.

lead them to living healthy lives.Â
- 8. ďBudget

program will be advertised through the professional athletes as well.
⢠The professional athletes assisting us will provide a lot of  theÂ

⢠The time period of this program consist of 2 months. The meetings willÂ
take place in Shelby county Tennessee at the Fed Ex Forum.Â

achievements will show what will need to be corrected in the future.Â

are lowered, this program will be spread cities and states.Â
