The content lends itself to looking at each challenge from
a new perspective; steering us away from predetermined
paths, creating new forms of communication and
engagement.

NIXON ART MOSH
BACKGROUND
Premier watch and accessories brand
for the youth lifestyle market, Nixon
has held Art Mosh events in major
cities across the world.
Nixon wanted to apply a collaborative
approach to the Art Most and give
back to the community by creating
a kick ass party and exhibition
that involves Nixon’s friends and
supporters- all within a tight budget.
OUR COUNSEL
To curate an exhibition that
showcases work from various creative
fields and within this framework,
establish a distinctly Singaporean
flavour, culminating in an event that
surpasses the quality of Nixon Art
Most events around the world.
THE SOLUTION
An art focused exhibition for the first 3
hours including live silkscreening and
painting. The rest of the night sees live
performances by 2 bands and 1 DJ.
Our event dressing solutions
included a hawker-style popiah
booth, which we re-purposed
as a DJ booth, a toaster hanging
over a bath tub (a visual of
Nixon’s company ethos) and a
large projection showing Nixon
surf and skate videos.
THE RESULTS
Over 1,000 of Singapore’s
fashion friendly youth attended.
The merchandising executives
from CK Tangs saw the potential
of the content for in-store
display and consequently
gave Nixon 3 premium shop
windows to display the artworks
and re-create a mini Art Most
in-store experience. Kult was
invited to organise Art Mosh II
the following year.

to launch a regional PR campaign to
generate ticket sales in key regional
markets – Singapore, Thailand and
Indonesia. We were also tasked with
creating an art installation that would
generate PR and involve artists from
the region.
THE SOLUTION
Kult worked with local partners
in each of the markets to run a PR
campaign in online, print and radio
media. Partnerships were established
with key lifestyle media in each market
and a regional partnership with MTV
Asia.
Kult commissioned artists across the
region to create a series of Monster
installations that were displayed on
the festival site and promoted as
the ‘Kult Real Horror Show’. This also
included a remix video showcase of
vintage horror movies.

HEALTH PROMOTION BOARD
BRIEF
Health Promotion Board wanted to
educate young people about the
dangers of HIV / AIDS in a tone and
language that would resonate with
them.
THE SOLUTION
Kult Issue 03 examined the subject of
AIDS by inviting artists from Singapore
and over the world to illustrate various
facts relating to the virus.
We commissioned famed sneaker
customizer SBTG to create limited
edition sneakers that were auctioned
off to raise money for AIDS awareness.
Eight lucky/unlucky readers found
a macabre angbao (red packet)
containing $50 in their AIDS issue
to illustrate they have just as much
chance of contracting HIV if they have
unprotected sex.
We created an interactive ‘AIDS’ online
game that was housed in an arcade
machine and toured various bars,
boutiques and universities.
THE RESULTS
• 10,000 copies of the magazine
distributed to young people
across Singapore.
• Pop-up exhibitions in major
tertiary institutions (NTU, SAM).
• Artworks were made into a
series of T-shirts that were given
away online.

THE NATIONAL LIBRARY BOARD
BACKGROUND
To celebrate Singapore’s
independence day in 2015, NLB
created a digital platform to
unite Singaporeans by crowd-
sourcing content from people
who’ve made Singapore their
home, and anyone who has a
fond memory of the city. NLB
approached Kult to create an on-
ground extension of the platform
that would engage young people.
THE SOLUTION
A special homegrown issue of
Kult magazine that explores
the theme of ‘Memory’. We
researched a treasure trove
of materials such as vintage
postcards, news-clippings,
record covers and fragments
of the past which we shared
with artists, giving them space
to re-interpret and create new
artworks based on their own
memories of Singapore.
THE RESULTS
10,000 copies of the
magazine were distributed
to Kult’s fanbase, building a
new audience for NLB and
inspiring them to start their
own memory project.
