what do we know
Hospitals and the health care system’s patient - 3 hour
waiting rooms - paper billing with hand written care
instructions - prescription pick ups later in the day
from other establishments - process
is slowly but surely being brought into the 21st century
with programs like MyChart and MI-Time. But still has a
LOT of room for improvement in efficiency and
implementation of new programs

Sparrow uses
Sparrow uses
Create custom geofilters and tags to hire employees
1- create geofilters that announce positions hiring
2- “snap us your most creative photo at a sparrow location”
3- to apply must post snap with our geofilter to story
Sparrowmask
Sparrow uses
Doctor takeover days
1- New Doctors: introductions of any new physician starting
in your health network
2- “favorite surgerys / craziest stories / advice”
2- A day in the life of a ___________ (nurse, doctor, neurologist, medical technician)
Sparrow uses
Holiday / Awareness Days
1- Focus on images of Breast Care Specialists, Radiologists, and Gynecologists with
pink text overlay and stickers, and pink ribbon geotags in October for Breast
Cancer Awareness month or to promote cancer screenings
2- Predictive content around certain holidays: For example, highlight your hospital’s
fathers around Father’s Day
Sparrow uses
Health Education
Studies say that the internet and social media is the #1 resource seeked out for
health related Q & A and advice
85% of college students report feeling depressed or having unmanageable
anxiety at some point
Provide a platform where students can browse for information and tips they
are seeking for or curious about on a private level (seek information on healthy
life choices, exercise, nutrition, relationship decisions, etc)
Sparrow uses
24 hour health emergency hotline
1- answer simple questions and concerns
2- better assess if an office visit is necessary via photo / video sharing
3- basic needs managed keeping waiting rooms clear
Sparrow uses
Patient Snapchat Updates
1- Long term patients keep loved ones updated by posting daily / weekly with
use of memories to post at a consistent time. Each patient gets their own
snapchat username so it is confidential and personal (Sparrow_Hengesbach432)
2- Post about special stories that people would like to keep up with (i.e. a boy
comes in and must get a leg amputation, gets fitted for his prosthetic, takes his
first steps, released from the hospital)
3- Memories creates monthly complied stories “Highlights of Recovery” a
monthly memory to inspire not only those recovering but those in need of
finding the fight to heal
first things first
1- Website needs to be reevaluated and reformatted (not aesthetically pleasing, does not
draw in the reader, actually averts attention, hard to navigate, outdated, cluttered)
2- Strong content archive for constant need of posting new, exciting content
3- Content via photos, blogs, and videos
4- Blog online, connected to website, for archived and expanded-on stories featured on
snapchat
5- Press releases, active social media platforms all reiterating one another
conclusion
In an era where the younger generations are more technologically sound than
older generations, parents are being influenced by their child’s opinions due
knowledge of social media. Targeting the young is advised.
Millennials and Generation X are highly interested in health and
wellness right now
Targeting younger generations for hospitals via snapchat is unique in the sense
that it is uncharted territory on new ground and has a lot of room for exploration
and success

Editor's Notes

  1. Click on settings
  2. Add friends by holding your snap screen over their snap screen and taking a picture Back to home screen, take a picture using the large center button
  3. 3 filters always available
  4. Time & Date stamp used to be an option but since snaps are only available for 24 hours it seemed unnecessary and repetitive to stamp
  5. Sparrow Hospital Geofilter
  6. Create and submit online and can choose the days / hours of the day it is live and able to use (the amount of hours available determines the price) A cool way to involve customers and gain interaction is having contests for them to create geotags that your company will use
  7. Based on location geofilters can be utilized for fun advertising and customer interaction with the product, not only basically giving the product free customer reviews but also not to mention the free word of mouth advertising that comes along with it
  8. You are allowed to replay one snapchat per day, and can only replay the snap if you have not yet exited the conversation screen after viewing it. Once exited the ability to replay that particular snap goes away
  9. Scroll through magazines, newspapers, blogs, and articles available daily via the discover page. ** Think about incorporating Great Lakes Bay and The Bottom Line ** The discover page gives you about 8 words for a clever enough tagline to grab the attention of the reader Hold down over any part of the discover page / articles and a screenshot is created to post to one's own story
  10. Promotional Pairings (McDonals & Lebron) Connects People Worldwide (soccer game) Celebrity Takeovers (Fergi @ AMA) Advertisements (Samsung galaxy AMA) Exclusive Content (Kylie Jenner lip kit announcements & content releases)
  11. Whatever their name is in your phone is what their name will come up as in Snapchat If you do not have their phone number, their username appears and you can change that to whatever name you want
  12. Get MSU students and patients to subscribe to Sparrow Hospital
  13. Michael Kors sunglasses
  14. ** Use this database / technology to analyze and track down potential clients? **
  15. Huge exposure for ads, rivaling that of facebook’s exposure rates **through the app means in between stories and such**
  16. Actually being sued for their content being free promotional advertising so take advantage of it while you can
  17. 1- Put out a geofilter of a hanging “wanted” sign asking for resume applications via snapchat (most creative picture / drawing snapped to them) 2- Tweeted, Facebooked, and Instagrammed that a new menu item would be exclusively released via snapchat and the name would ONLY be mentioned via snap not on the menu so you had to watch it to figure out the name to be able to order the item
  18. MI-Time is a texting service that sends messages or emails (based on preference) with time updates on your place in line starting from with what place you are in line. It will text you updates on how fast the line is moving and what time you will be up next, completely eliminating waiting room time. If you are even 30 seconds late they skip you and go on to the next person, keeping efficiency, but you can easily get back in line online and wait again.
  19. Smartphone app Dermatologist, Urgent Care, Primary Care, Therapists, Dentists, etc.
  20. Top tabs
  21. Hiring via snapchat is the perfect way to appeal to college students, who are some of the most active members on snapchat. Drawing attention to the hospital in a new, creative way will entice future employees
  22. ** Q & A ** procedure, doctor, etc
  23. ** Q & A ** procedure, doctor, etc
  24. 24 hour hotlines and on-call doctors already exist. Useful because many people don’t want to waste the money going to an urgent care or office if nothing is actually wrong. Snapchat makes it easier than ever to submit questions and concerns to on-call specialists. Live / photo chat allows the ability to better asses the problem and if coming in to the office is necessary
  25. ** sign papers allowing certain content to be released ** 1- nothing too personal. ex. use the “how much pain are you in” faces as masks or stickers
  26. Basically without these things first, snapchat will not be successful
  27. For future reference / need further assistance
