This document provides instructions for 6th grade students to create a bibliography using Easybib. It outlines 6 tasks for students to find sources like books, reference books, online encyclopedias and newspapers to cite. For each task, it describes how to search for a source on a topic like water pollution or oil spills, then how to cite it using Easybib. Select one of the non-fiction titles and look at the index.
Find a book with information that you think is important.
Step 2
Try one of the following keywords to find information:

Water Depletion
Water Conservation

Water Pollution

Enter the ISBN and click “cite it” to create an Easybib citation for this book.

Reference Books

Type in the search bar at the top of the page using one of
the following keywords:

Cite your source in two clicks.
Click citation tools on the menu bar, then select the “Easybib” button.
Easybib will open in your browser with the new citation listed.

Find a newspaper article in Gale Science in Context

Open the topic Water Pollution: http://bit.ly/xoHlLD
Step 2
Scroll down until you see “News” and click “View All 782.”
Select a newspaper article that you think has important
information.
Step 3
Cite your source in two clicks.
Click citation tools on the menu bar, then select the “Easybib” button.
Easybib will open in your browser with the new citation listed.

Online Encyclopedia: Britannica Academic Edition
Deepwater Horizon oil spill: map. Map. Encyclopædia Britannica Online. Web. 13 Sep. 2014.
Step 1
Go to: academic.eb.com/
Step 2
Type Oil spill in the search box at the top of the page.
Then select: “Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010”
Step 3
Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the citation in MLA style.
Step 4
Copy the entire citation.
Step 5
Open your bibliography in Easybib.
Select al 59 options.
Select write/paste citations on the left.
Paste the citation in the box.
Select this text: Encyclopaedia Britannica. Encyclopaedia Britannica
Online Academic Edition
Click: “italic”
Click Create Citation, and then you are done.

Select and click either magazines OR books on the right side.
Step 4
Find a selection with good information.

Cite your source in two clicks.
Click citation tools on the menu bar, then select the “Easybib” button.
Easybib will open in your browser with the new citation listed.
