1. My research on existing college/university Magazines
This is the oxford university magazine. The front cover
is very artistic looking and quirky so it might catch
student’s eyes and make them want to pick it up. The
text is in a clear red bold text. All of the other text is
aligned to the left. This magazine seems to have a lot of
information useful to students. The masthead is placed at
the top of the magazine in the centre. The main image is
placed in the middle of the magazine but is on the right
hand side. The cover line of what the magazine contains
is on the left hand side. The slogo is in the right hand
corner.
This Is the Southampton university magazine. The main
feature which would appeal to students is that Craig
David is on the front cover and he is recognisable. The
picture is the main image. Students may also be interested
because it is simple and doesn’- look like its going to bore
you with too much text. To make it stand out they have
used a white text to contrast it on the black background.
The masthead is placed on the right hand side of the
magazine going down vertical. The cover lines are wrote
on the bottom of the magazine on the left hand side. The`
slogo is on the right hand bottom corner.
This magazine looks very professional and students may
want to read this if they are thinking of joining the
university. It presents the university in a good way and
has a clear and bright picture of what the campus looks
like. The masthead is placed at the top of the magazine in
the centre. This magazine does not contain a slogo.
