Introduction
Ia'orana, let me introduce myself, Teiva POLITI, I am 21
years old and from Tahiti. I have been playing badminton
since I was 9 years old and I am currently in the Tahitian
national team since 2018. I am also studying to become an
airline pilot officer.
My Sportsman's Story
JI started badminton in earnest competitively in 2016 in my
home club of Papara where I grew up. I participated and
won many tournaments in the local championship which
allowed me to enter the junior program of the Tahitian
selection.
Sport taught me many values such as discipline, rigour and
fair play.
By the time I graduated in 2019, I had already discovered a
part of the world through badminton. I then went to France
to play for the US Talence club (which plays in division 1). I
am the captain of the men's team playing in its highest
division.
In December 2021, I injured my cruciate ligament (ACL)
followed by a surgical operation. After many months of
rehabilitation with my physiotherapist and a stay at the
CERS CAPBRETON, I finally started playing badminton again
at high intensity in December 2022 in order to reach new
goals in my sporting career.

Back from injury, I am convinced to put my passions at the heart of my life. As an amateur athlete with access to high level sport, I would
like to continue to carry the emblem of Tahiti through my sport in local or international tournaments. I would really like to show that it is
possible, even coming from an island, to go as far as possible with the few means we have but with a motivation that is much greater. In
order to allow me to train in parallel with my studies and to finance my expenses, I commit myself to give the best of myself to represent the
colours of our fenua, dear to my heart.
And to associate myself with you and your values which correspond to me and make our beautiful Polynesia shine.
