1. Social Networks
These sites provide services that allow you to connect with people of similar
interests and backgrounds. On a social network, you’ll usually have a profile,
groups, messaging, photos and multiple other ways to interact with other users.
Popular examples include Facebook and LinkedIn.

The social network exists to help you stay connected with existing customer relationships by sharing important
moments with other users. These networks thrive on personal content. Whether sharing a milestone, an interesting
article, or an interesting photo of your product — this is the place to do it.
• Positivity pays off. Positivity boosts engagement and sharing.
• Keep it short.
• Get visual. Posts with images tend to get very high engagement. Include photos with your posts.
• Tag your friends. When appropriate, including your friends or colleagues in your posts can help boost the exposure
of your content.
• Be you. Rep your brand authentically.

2. Bookmarking Sites
These sites allow you to save, organize, and manage links to websites and any number of online
resources. On these sites, you have the ability to tag links, making those links easier to search for and
find again, or share with other followers. StumbleUpon is one of the most popular bookmarking sites.
3. Social News
Social news sites allow users to post news links, articles,
videos, pictures, and other items to outside articles. Users
vote on the items and the items with the highest number of
votes are displayed the most prominently with the most
visibility on the site. Popular social news sites are Reddit
and Digg.
4. Media Sharing
Media sharing websites allow users to upload and share different types of media, such as pictures and
video. Most of these sites also offer social features, like the ability to create profiles and the ability to
comment on other shared material. YouTube, Flickr, and Vimeo are examples of media sharing sites.
5. Micro Blogging
Micro blogging sites allow the user to submit short written entries,
photos, or other media, such as links to product and service sites,
as well as links to other social media sites. These short updates
can be seen by anyone subscribed to receive the updates. The
most popular micro blogging website is Twitter. Find out how

Forums
Blogs are sites of information and discussion. Blogger, the free weblog publishing tool from Google,
allows users to share text, photos and video to followers. Blog comments are usually centered around
