Importance of
HANDS-ON-LEARNING
in Higher Education
To acquire knowledge, reading
and writing has always been
used since long. In early days,
getting the knowledge, the main way
was through the experience. Studies
show that people learn the best and
retain it for long when learning is
hands-on. Learning is about how one
perceives and understands the subjects.
Learning may involve understanding,
remembering the information and
ideas, etc. Hands-on, in general, means
learning by doing. It is often not easy
to properly understand something you
have never experienced. Scientists
believe that the mental growth of
children increases if it is through the
activities. Hands-on learning is a
learning style in which learning takes
place by the students carrying out
physical activities, rather than listening
to a lecture or watching
demonstrations.
Students in higher education are also
more diverse than at any time in the
past. Students vary enormously in their
financial status, social class, family
circumstances, age, their previous
educational experience, reasons for
attending higher education, and
aspirations and ambition, their abilities
and disabilities and special needs.
Students are increasingly
heterogeneous and have an array of
identities, which in turn create a
multiplicity of learning needs. One
cannot assume that there is a common
understanding by students of the
purposes of higher education. Reading
does not provide the kind of authentic
experiences that one needs. Students
cannot be educated by reading content
alone, and as a result, their overall
academic performance is likely to be
affected.
Hands-on learning is a philosophy that
learning is more durable and lasting
when students are cognitively engaged
in the learning process. It helps in
long-term retention and better transfer
of knowledge and understanding in
real world problem which is result of
mental work on the part of learners
who are engaged in active sense-
making and knowledge construction.
The best example is to teach someone
to swim. We can try and teach them in
a classroom, but to learn they should
go out and practice it. Thus, our
education system demands for hands-
on learning experiences.
Many people are habitual of same
traditional, formal education and are
conditioned to see one-way
transmission as the norm and their
comfort zone. Sometimes it suited for
students also as they are interested in
grades/marks and which they can
achieve easily in traditional way. The
purpose of traditional, formal
education is evaluation and not
learning. Presently most effective
educational systems are having more
vocational courses providing work-
based experiences than ever before.
Subjects such as design, science and
technology incorporate many aspects
of hands-on learning, and give students
the opportunity to develop skills,
knowledge and understanding of
designing and making functional
products.
Students have access to a
contemporary and flexible learning
environment that facilitates individual
and collaborative learning. They
participate in an academic community,
where technology is integrated in
active and diverse methods for
teaching and assessment providing
students with advanced academic and
digital qualifications. To be logical
thinking and creating, hands on
learning is very important. It also
creates the job creators and facilitates
in job seekers as well.
Experiential learning is the process of
learning through experience, and is
more specifically defined as “learning
through reflection on doing”. Hands-on
learning is a form of experiential
learning but does not necessarily
involve students reflecting on their
product. Presently Institutions of
Higher Education are offering different
modules of Hands-on-learning which
includes industrial taring, prototypes
etc. Such type of hands-on-learning
will certainly help in better teaching
and learning outcomes.T R

India is a densely populated country with more than 50% of
its population situated in rural India. For most of us the
Indian villages are a mere attraction to visit as a tourist and
take a day off from the bustling streets of the urban routine,
but these small villages have more to it. Its serene beauty and
lush greenery are worth staying there, it offers fresh air and
good local food which one can relish with a sense of
simplicity. In many ways, it teaches us more about the rural

Hacking has become one of the most well-known activities
around the world ever since the term came to meaning. Usually
teenagers who just discover about social media are keen to
indulge in such activities just for fun. Hacking friend's social
media platforms through cracking passwords and unlocking a
locked system has become very common these days. This in
turn has become a professional career itself and many big
organizations require ethical hackers for security purposes. The
demand of this has increased considering the amount of traffic
websites and servers receive.
It is one of the oldest forms of entertainment, as a kid watching
that first ever show of puppetry is very fascinating. Often the
puppetry/act ends with a meaningful message for the audience,
young and old alike. It has become an important medium of
education and educational institutes have taken initiatives to
integrate these puppets shows to teach students. To keep the art
of puppetry alive, and to entertain and educate the audience,
several events are organized in schools and colleges.

courses from the best universities around the globe, one can
learn from the leaders and get certified while in comfort of
their homes. The higher education institutes have hence
expanded online to provide the aspirants with courses
across domains, in a variety of areas . Many IIMs and
leading Indian institutions now run certified online courses,
hence easing the process of learning for the aspirants.
Reading, viewing and hearing books is now a possibility
with e-books and audio books coming into play. While
accessing information was once a draining multi-step
process, beginning physically visiting the library, now one
can read and listen to books with just a click. Youtube
channels like Khan Academy and Crashcourse today
provide students with quick and simplified videos
explaining complex concepts. An extension of this becomes
the webinars that organisations and institutes conduct for
aspirants, thus connecting and imparting information to a
national and global audience at large.
Distance learning programmes, which also included
travelling miles for appearing for offline examinations, now
provide the students the ease of appearing in online
examinations, thus making it convenient for the students.
Learning is gamified
With augmented reality/virtual reality setting feet into the
education sector, there are now gaming apps and websites
that help one learn and work towards getting better at
concepts. These infotaining applications and websites not
only help the students sculpt their knowledge but also make
them apply skills that are critical to their relevance in this
technologically advancing world. For instance, BYJU’s and
Cuemath , with a user base of 15,00,000 and 20,000
respectively, offer VR games that make students learn
mathematical concepts, while applying critical thinking.
The popularity of such apps only testifies to the
applicability of technology in the education industry.
igitalisation has been instrumental in
Drevolutionizing every industrial sector in India and
around the globe. From changing governance, to
bringing different nationalities under one umbrella,
digitalization has successfully become a concept that
surpasses the conventional boundaries, administratively,
and otherwise.
The impact of digitalisation in India, especially in the past
decade, has grown manifold. Every industry has seen a
boom in its sector in the form of constantly advancing
digital technology. While this has changed the way people
and businesses function, it has also affected their mindset.
Education is not foreign to these trends. Education, like any
other industry, has witnessed increased awareness in its
sector with the introduction of technology. From smart class
to app and distance learning and everything in between,
technology has been catalyzing the dramatically evolving
education scenario in India.
Classrooms are now visual
The classic four walls with black and pin boards do not
define a classroom anymore. The millennial generation
learns from their visual gadgets. In a scenario of Kindle and
Youtube, where a student can look up anything in mere 200
milliseconds, retaining the good-old techniques of teaching
from books only makes teaching more time consuming and
institutes outdated and incompetent. This is one reason why
more than 18,000 higher education institutes in India have
adopted the concept of digital education. Classrooms today
have become equipped with projectors and blackboards are
replaced with smartboards and projection screens, which
has also helped the academicians to move over the
conventional lecture model of teaching.
Knowledge is omnipresent
In the world of free internet, where net neutrality prevails,
learning is just an internet connection away. With portals

Along with this, virtual tours to places, while in the comfort
of classroom, has only become possible with VR. For
instance, as reported in a case study by the British Council,
Mohammed Fazil from Bangalore uses VR with Google’s
Expedition and Cardboard apps to take his grade 4 students
to virtual tours. Such technology becomes as much
inspiration for the teachers to teach as for the students to
learn.
Learning can be managed online
With many schools and higher-education institutes now
introducing a learning management system on their online
portals, digital education has become more than just a
luxury. Now students have online dashboards customized to
their need, that include not only their course syllabi and
curricula, but also other information like attendance ledger.
Digital libraries, with journals and e-books curated
exclusively for the students, are accessible for free to the
students enrolled in an institute. The fact that IIT-K’s
National Digital Library of India nears the volume of the
biggest library of India, The National Library of India,
Kolkata, that hosts 26,41,615 books along with other
periodicals, maps, manuscripts etc. explains the growing
relevance of technology in India. This has magnified the
scope of knowledge-gain.
Even the tech-savvy parents of these enthusiastic learners
get a dashboard access to keep a track of their ward’s
progress, which ensures security and transparency in the
system for them to understand.
Being a country of the millennials, India has enormous
scope in every growing industry, education being one of
them. With initiatives from the public and private sectors of
work like Digital India and Digital Paathshala, education
now seems to take a binary turn. However, with only 9% of
the 66% Indian rural population having access to the
internet and ultimately to the technological advancement of
education sector, in the words of Robert Frost, we have
miles to go before we sleep.

The
Being
Practical
Approach
magine the Google map and the signage present on
Ievery nook and corner of the roads, which guides
through the one-to-many directions to reach the
final destinations. In the same approach, Education is a
holistic platform to accomplish goals every individual
desires of and it is the most important resource in sailing
the ship of success. Living in such modern times,
education has spread its word loud and clear, the right
for education of every individual is given utmost
significance to nurture a well-defined future.
Be it school, college or institutes, the respected
authorities have taken excellent initiatives to foster the
needs of students and bestow the best-in-class offerings.
The government has also lent its hands to integrate the
necessary initiatives, policies and acted upon it
accordingly. In the last couple of years, education has
changed the name of the game and has experienced
radical transformations to enhance and educate
individuals like never before. In contrast, the positives
and negatives are always like the two sides of the coin,
but one should always concentrate to toss and spin to the
positive end.
Idea of Practicality

students and foreseeing a bigger picture according to the
present time is the practical knowledge and skillset
provided in education. Referring to textbooks or reading
and learning for long hours often gets tedious for
students, which sometimes even lead to the loss of
interest of a particular subject. In order to avoid this,
making presentation which depicts the visual and text is
interesting and attracts students. Adding an audio file to
the presentation gives the students a more detailed
version of the subject, explaining systematic procedures
till the conclusion.
This kind of teaching and learning experiences intrigues
the students and brings the teachers and students to
communicate and discuss different topics. According to
surveys and also the top echelons of the education
fraternity, it is observed that students grasp faster
through practical way of teaching, the visuals are more
informative then the text and performing the task
practically makes the student learn on an upgraded scale.
Hence, practical knowledge is a must in education for
the present and upcoming generations.
Giving an example along to memorize or remember
information makes it easy to recollect, for example,
taking in account television news on screen flashing, no
one memorizes it, but it often gets registered in one's
mind and it passes on from one person to other. This is
due to the visuals and the title breaking news leaves an
impact, that ends up to individuals listening the news as
it is seems very interesting and adds the curiosity to
sneak-peak at what’s new. Including these inquisitive
information-teaching methods can drive the attention of
students and open their eyes for curiosity.
Responsibilities of Teachers and School Authorities
The different ways of teaching and learning are still on
the path of discovering. The motto lies in conveying
information to students be it in any form. The old school
method of trial and error just works right for the teachers
and professors. One cannot drown by facing one failure,
but staying there and not coming out of it actually leads
to drowning, just like this way the teachers or professors
should know which method of teaching works and grind
accordingly. Every student has unique capabilities and
the grasping power of students vary from one to another;
hence the teachers should understand and analyze every
student's work report and progress graph.
Helping the teachers along the way, the school
authorities should conduct seminars and inter-school
gatherings for students across various schools to
communicate and come together. Each student should
participate in such competitions and display their project
work. Every student should be given a topic, this way
there will be many of diversified topics to learn from.
These kinds of conducted seminars give student’s the
confidence and encouragement to perform well.
It is the duty of teachers and school authorities to support
the students and bring out their maximum potential to
stand amongst all.
Moving Ahead
Today’s students are going to become the professionals
of tomorrow. Hence, the practical knowledge is
imperative in job profiles. Going forward, the practical
approach is advantageous and beneficial for students as
many jobs demand this requirement. As technology in
the existing time is on the forefront, to be able to operate
and put together the different bits and pieces of
presentation models has become a must. In practice, the
practical method of teaching is a boon for students, the
students will be hands-on in this as it is being taught to
them since the beginning.
The key to innovation is possible by working down the
actual functioning models. The wide-ranging fields
varying from automobiles, designing, and electronics
mostly all require a great deal of practical knowledge.
Hence, imbibing these practices right from the student’s
life is essential and helpful in the future.T R

s a small kid the very first thing taught at home or even at school are the alphabets and digits, be it the A for Apple
Aand B for Ball which is a poem that kids sing more than often or the numbers counted on the fingers. This is the
initial step in any student's teaching process, but the irony lies that these alphabets and digits learned in the very
beginning tend to haunt them in the upcoming years.
The entire system of grades and ranks has two sides to them. To look at it from a positive aspect the grades and ranks
certainly encourage the students and can be seen as a symbol of appreciation. On the contrary, it also becomes a burden for
students to keep up with the grades and ranks always which counts the negative aspect of it. A student's hard work and
st
dedication should be definitely appreciated, but not compared to grades and ranks always. The grade A+ or rank 1 is
almost like reaching the top of the pyramid, but as every student has different strengthens and weaknesses, it might be that
everyone has a different pyramid to reach.
In school it is very obvious to like a particular subject and dislike the other. There is always this one subject that will haunt
us be it the traumatizing calculations in the mathematics problem-set or the tedious long answers of social studies. Every
student has some pros and cons and realizing this at a young age will help students work on their positives and negatives.
Rather than continuously fretting about the grading, what one can do best is try to be away from this entire scenario and be
more focused on the studies. This way the pressure to perform excellent/better will not be an issue and will keep the
students grounded and concentrated to/on the basics.

Comprehensive Teaching Methodology
In the school life, teachers who guide the students play the most significant role in building them for a well-defined
future. Hence, it is the duty of every teacher to put forth the right teaching process and a proper layout of this entire
st
grades and ranks scenario. It is more than often seen that in the whole race of being the 1 rank holder or getting A+
grades, the kids get so included with this number game that they forget the point of studying and learning right from the
basics. Achieving a goal and satisfying the greed has a very thin line of difference which students at a tender age fail to
understand. Education is not about the number game it’s solely about knowledge which helps to enhance one’s mindset
and conveying this to the students in the most flexible manner is a teacher’s job.
Growing up the students start to experience various aspects of this complete setup of being ahead in the race and that’s
when most of them become a part of the famously known rat race. Despite of understanding its consequences and the
pressure one goes through while dealing with this whole situation, most of the individuals become more engrossed in the
constant race of either coming first and last. This in turn affects the individuals mentally and also leaves a negative impact
overall. Hence, the teachers or professors who guide the students throughout the education journey should be careful in
leading them and have an open minded approach for a better tomorrow.
Jobs according to the Need of the Hour
In this modern world, the ideas are limitless and opportunities are abundant, be it the startup world or non-conventional
jobs everything is blooming at its highest/fastest. As every student is unique in his or her way and depending on their
strengths and weakness, one can easily find a perfect career option. In many of the job profiles today, the grades and
ranks/gradation actually is not that important or mandatory to read a specific score. It moreover concentrates on a
candidate’s potential, skillset, communication skill and many more.
Many a times the question arises that how these grades and ranks actually matter in the job profile and count ahead in the
longer run. It is very obvious that good grades is like half a task done, the major criteria while selecting any potential
candidate definitely lies in the overall average score one has, but it is not completely restricted to that. In an interview in
that specific amount of time for two to three hours what one really understands, the way one communicates and conducts
himself/herself is actually the deal breaker is.
The Final Touch
The most essential aspect that every student should learn is to never compare oneself to other and not become a part of
the number game or rat race. In order to succeed in one’s professional journey they need to always put their best foot
forward and work with utmost dedication and stick to being honest in all means. T R

  • 16. Importance of HANDS-ON-LEARNING in Higher Education To acquire knowledge, reading and writing has always been used since long. In early days, getting the knowledge, the main way was through the experience. Studies show that people learn the best and retain it for long when learning is hands-on. Learning is about how one perceives and understands the subjects. Learning may involve understanding, remembering the information and ideas, etc. Hands-on, in general, means learning by doing. It is often not easy to properly understand something you have never experienced. Scientists believe that the mental growth of children increases if it is through the activities. Hands-on learning is a learning style in which learning takes place by the students carrying out physical activities, rather than listening to a lecture or watching demonstrations. Students in higher education are also more diverse than at any time in the past. Students vary enormously in their financial status, social class, family circumstances, age, their previous educational experience, reasons for attending higher education, and aspirations and ambition, their abilities and disabilities and special needs. Students are increasingly heterogeneous and have an array of identities, which in turn create a multiplicity of learning needs. One cannot assume that there is a common understanding by students of the purposes of higher education. Reading does not provide the kind of authentic experiences that one needs. Students cannot be educated by reading content alone, and as a result, their overall academic performance is likely to be affected. Hands-on learning is a philosophy that learning is more durable and lasting when students are cognitively engaged in the learning process. It helps in long-term retention and better transfer of knowledge and understanding in real world problem which is result of mental work on the part of learners who are engaged in active sense- making and knowledge construction. The best example is to teach someone to swim. We can try and teach them in a classroom, but to learn they should go out and practice it. Thus, our education system demands for hands- on learning experiences. Many people are habitual of same traditional, formal education and are conditioned to see one-way transmission as the norm and their comfort zone. Sometimes it suited for students also as they are interested in grades/marks and which they can achieve easily in traditional way. The purpose of traditional, formal education is evaluation and not learning. Presently most effective educational systems are having more vocational courses providing work- based experiences than ever before. Subjects such as design, science and technology incorporate many aspects of hands-on learning, and give students the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of designing and making functional products. Students have access to a contemporary and flexible learning environment that facilitates individual and collaborative learning. They participate in an academic community, where technology is integrated in active and diverse methods for teaching and assessment providing students with advanced academic and digital qualifications. To be logical thinking and creating, hands on learning is very important. It also creates the job creators and facilitates in job seekers as well. Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience, and is more specifically defined as “learning through reflection on doing”. Hands-on learning is a form of experiential learning but does not necessarily involve students reflecting on their product. Presently Institutions of Higher Education are offering different modules of Hands-on-learning which includes industrial taring, prototypes etc. Such type of hands-on-learning will certainly help in better teaching and learning outcomes.T R Expert’s Viewpoint December | 201814|

The higher education institutes have hence expanded online to provide the aspirants with courses across domains, in a variety of areas . Many IIMs and leading Indian institutions now run certified online courses, hence easing the process of learning for the aspirants. Reading, viewing and hearing books is now a possibility with e-books and audio books coming into play. While accessing information was once a draining multi-step process, beginning physically visiting the library, now one can read and listen to books with just a click. Youtube channels like Khan Academy and Crashcourse today provide students with quick and simplified videos explaining complex concepts. An extension of this becomes the webinars that organisations and institutes conduct for aspirants, thus connecting and imparting information to a national and global audience at large. Distance learning programmes, which also included travelling miles for appearing for offline examinations, now provide the students the ease of appearing in online examinations, thus making it convenient for the students. Learning is gamified With augmented reality/virtual reality setting feet into the education sector, there are now gaming apps and websites that help one learn and work towards getting better at concepts. These infotaining applications and websites not only help the students sculpt their knowledge but also make them apply skills that are critical to their relevance in this technologically advancing world. For instance, BYJU’s and Cuemath , with a user base of 15,00,000 and 20,000 respectively, offer VR games that make students learn mathematical concepts, while applying critical thinking. The popularity of such apps only testifies to the applicability of technology in the education industry. igitalisation has been instrumental in Drevolutionizing every industrial sector in India and around the globe. From changing governance, to bringing different nationalities under one umbrella, digitalization has successfully become a concept that surpasses the conventional boundaries, administratively, and otherwise. The impact of digitalisation in India, especially in the past decade, has grown manifold. Every industry has seen a boom in its sector in the form of constantly advancing digital technology. While this has changed the way people and businesses function, it has also affected their mindset. Education is not foreign to these trends. Education, like any other industry, has witnessed increased awareness in its sector with the introduction of technology. From smart class to app and distance learning and everything in between, technology has been catalyzing the dramatically evolving education scenario in India. Classrooms are now visual The classic four walls with black and pin boards do not define a classroom anymore. The millennial generation learns from their visual gadgets. In a scenario of Kindle and Youtube, where a student can look up anything in mere 200 milliseconds, retaining the good-old techniques of teaching from books only makes teaching more time consuming and institutes outdated and incompetent. This is one reason why more than 18,000 higher education institutes in India have adopted the concept of digital education. Classrooms today have become equipped with projectors and blackboards are replaced with smartboards and projection screens, which has also helped the academicians to move over the conventional lecture model of teaching. Such technology becomes as much inspiration for the teachers to teach as for the students to learn. Learning can be managed online With many schools and higher-education institutes now introducing a learning management system on their online portals, digital education has become more than just a luxury. Now students have online dashboards customized to their need, that include not only their course syllabi and curricula, but also other information like attendance ledger. Digital libraries, with journals and e-books curated exclusively for the students, are accessible for free to the students enrolled in an institute. The fact that IIT-K’s National Digital Library of India nears the volume of the biggest library of India, The National Library of India, Kolkata, that hosts 26,41,615 books along with other periodicals, maps, manuscripts etc. explains the growing relevance of technology in India. This has magnified the scope of knowledge-gain. • 36. students and foreseeing a bigger picture according to the present time is the practical knowledge and skillset provided in education. Referring to textbooks or reading and learning for long hours often gets tedious for students, which sometimes even lead to the loss of interest of a particular subject. In order to avoid this, making presentation which depicts the visual and text is interesting and attracts students. Adding an audio file to the presentation gives the students a more detailed version of the subject, explaining systematic procedures till the conclusion. This kind of teaching and learning experiences intrigues the students and brings the teachers and students to communicate and discuss different topics. According to surveys and also the top echelons of the education fraternity, it is observed that students grasp faster through practical way of teaching, the visuals are more informative then the text and performing the task practically makes the student learn on an upgraded scale. Hence, practical knowledge is a must in education for the present and upcoming generations. Giving an example along to memorize or remember information makes it easy to recollect, for example, taking in account television news on screen flashing, no one memorizes it, but it often gets registered in one's mind and it passes on from one person to other. This is due to the visuals and the title breaking news leaves an impact, that ends up to individuals listening the news as it is seems very interesting and adds the curiosity to sneak-peak at what’s new. Including these inquisitive information-teaching methods can drive the attention of students and open their eyes for curiosity. Responsibilities of Teachers and School Authorities The different ways of teaching and learning are still on the path of discovering. The motto lies in conveying information to students be it in any form. The old school method of trial and error just works right for the teachers and professors. One cannot drown by facing one failure, but staying there and not coming out of it actually leads to drowning, just like this way the teachers or professors should know which method of teaching works and grind accordingly. Every student has unique capabilities and the grasping power of students vary from one to another; hence the teachers should understand and analyze every student's work report and progress graph. Helping the teachers along the way, the school authorities should conduct seminars and inter-school gatherings for students across various schools to communicate and come together. Each student should participate in such competitions and display their project work. Every student should be given a topic, this way there will be many of diversified topics to learn from. These kinds of conducted seminars give student’s the confidence and encouragement to perform well. It is the duty of teachers and school authorities to support the students and bring out their maximum potential to stand amongst all. Moving Ahead Today’s students are going to become the professionals of tomorrow. Hence, the practical knowledge is imperative in job profiles. Going forward, the practical approach is advantageous and beneficial for students as many jobs demand this requirement. As technology in the existing time is on the forefront, to be able to operate and put together the different bits and pieces of presentation models has become a must. In practice, the practical method of teaching is a boon for students, the students will be hands-on in this as it is being taught to them since the beginning. The key to innovation is possible by working down the actual functioning models. The wide-ranging fields varying from automobiles, designing, and electronics mostly all require a great deal of practical knowledge. Hence, imbibing these practices right from the student’s life is essential and helpful in the future.T R December | 201834|

  • 41. s a small kid the very first thing taught at home or even at school are the alphabets and digits, be it the A for Apple Aand B for Ball which is a poem that kids sing more than often or the numbers counted on the fingers. This is the initial step in any student's teaching process, but the irony lies that these alphabets and digits learned in the very beginning tend to haunt them in the upcoming years. The entire system of grades and ranks has two sides to them. To look at it from a positive aspect the grades and ranks certainly encourage the students and can be seen as a symbol of appreciation. On the contrary, it also becomes a burden for students to keep up with the grades and ranks always which counts the negative aspect of it. A student's hard work and st dedication should be definitely appreciated, but not compared to grades and ranks always. The grade A+ or rank 1 is almost like reaching the top of the pyramid, but as every student has different strengthens and weaknesses, it might be that everyone has a different pyramid to reach. In school it is very obvious to like a particular subject and dislike the other. There is always this one subject that will haunt us be it the traumatizing calculations in the mathematics problem-set or the tedious long answers of social studies. Every student has some pros and cons and realizing this at a young age will help students work on their positives and negatives. Rather than continuously fretting about the grading, what one can do best is try to be away from this entire scenario and be more focused on the studies. This way the pressure to perform excellent/better will not be an issue and will keep the students grounded and concentrated to/on the basics. Editor’s Voice December | 2018 39|
  • 42. Comprehensive Teaching Methodology In the school life, teachers who guide the students play the most significant role in building them for a well-defined future. Hence, it is the duty of every teacher to put forth the right teaching process and a proper layout of this entire st grades and ranks scenario. It is more than often seen that in the whole race of being the 1 rank holder or getting A+ grades, the kids get so included with this number game that they forget the point of studying and learning right from the basics. Achieving a goal and satisfying the greed has a very thin line of difference which students at a tender age fail to understand. Education is not about the number game it’s solely about knowledge which helps to enhance one’s mindset and conveying this to the students in the most flexible manner is a teacher’s job. Growing up the students start to experience various aspects of this complete setup of being ahead in the race and that’s when most of them become a part of the famously known rat race. Despite of understanding its consequences and the pressure one goes through while dealing with this whole situation, most of the individuals become more engrossed in the constant race of either coming first and last. This in turn affects the individuals mentally and also leaves a negative impact overall. Hence, the teachers or professors who guide the students throughout the education journey should be careful in leading them and have an open minded approach for a better tomorrow. Jobs according to the Need of the Hour In this modern world, the ideas are limitless and opportunities are abundant, be it the startup world or non-conventional jobs everything is blooming at its highest/fastest. As every student is unique in his or her way and depending on their strengths and weakness, one can easily find a perfect career option. In many of the job profiles today, the grades and ranks/gradation actually is not that important or mandatory to read a specific score. It moreover concentrates on a candidate’s potential, skillset, communication skill and many more. Many a times the question arises that how these grades and ranks actually matter in the job profile and count ahead in the longer run. It is very obvious that good grades is like half a task done, the major criteria while selecting any potential candidate definitely lies in the overall average score one has, but it is not completely restricted to that. In an interview in that specific amount of time for two to three hours what one really understands, the way one communicates and conducts himself/herself is actually the deal breaker is. The Final Touch The most essential aspect that every student should learn is to never compare oneself to other and not become a part of the number game or rat race. In order to succeed in one’s professional journey they need to always put their best foot forward and work with utmost dedication and stick to being honest in all means. T R December | 201840|
