1. Networking Experience
This event was part of Sunderland Business Week, Developing the North East’s film and media
scene. It took place at Sunderland University’s St Peter’s Campus in the Sir Tom Cowie Lecture
Theatre on the 12th
of October 2022.
The talk included guest speakers Leo Pearlman from Fulwell73, Alison Gwynn chief executive of
North East Screen and Helen Munson the BBC’s commissioning editor for daytime and early peak.
From this event I learnt more about the industry and specifically how it is evolving more in the
Sunderland area as well as potential work experience, internships and bootcamps that the
companies offer that I could apply for in the future.
