Director of Parks

RE: READ FOR PROJECT APPROVAL
Dear Mr. Finnegan,
The North Central College Outdoor Venture Club came up with the idea of teaming
together to build a 10x10 Storage Shed in the Park of your approval. This will
provide a place for the Cross Country Teams to store equipment for practices and
races throughout the season vs. hauling the equipment back and fourth everyday as
in previous years. The objective of Outdoor Venture Club program is to give back to
the community that we live in whether it be service hours for local non-for-profits
or in this case to the Naperville Park District.
We are pleased to present this proposal for your review. We look forward of your
approval on this project for our club to give back to the community of Naperville in
which us college students live in throughout our years here at North Central.
Naperville has many parks, those of which are lovely beautified. It has come to our
attention that Naperville Central Cross Country Team needs to claim either Seager
Park and/or Knock Knolls Park as a course for their Cross Country runners to not
only race in but also practice in throughout the Cross Country Season. Partnering
with Naperville Central High School,
We have heard numerous responses from the community of Naperville all for the
project in building a storage shed. We are also seeking to any community
volunteers to help us build it as well. Our project will cost around $1,812.07 in
funding to obtain the designated materials, tools and equipment, along with
supplies such as food and water for our volunteers. The project should estimate
around 5 to 8 workdays weather permitting.
We appreciate the Naperville Park District’s mission by providing recreation and
park experiences that enrich the quality of life for our community. Please give me a
call at 224-406-6290 if you require any further information or have any questions
concerning this proposal.
Thank you,

Direct Money Contributions Funds Raised & Donations Received On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, the story “NCC Shed Project” appeared in the Naperville Path. The project was described and the address was provided so that people within the community could mail a donation for project expenses. That writes up yielded some community donations. We also received donations from neighbors in the Historic District of Naperville after reading about our project through a letter I sent them. Donations were also received from families of friends, teachers from the past, and people who know me from my various activities.
