Changing Your World
Most times the negative things that happens to people are not according to the will
of God, it is not according to divine agenda but ignorance made them to go through
it. You have a choice in changing what you are going through and that is why God
has laid it in my heart to write this material in blessing your life.
You have a choice to change whatever that is happening to your life that you don’t
like; that is the purpose why Christ came, to give you power over life’s situations.
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of
the devil.” 1 John 3:8
The reason many go through life being defeated is because they lack what I call,
“covenant sense,” they don’t know what is written. When you don’t know what is
written in the scriptures, you suffer for it in your daily life. Oppression, hard life, pain are
the price to pay for being ignorant, sometimes people pay by death (hard lesson).
“Giving thanks unto the Father…Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” Colossians 3:12-13
Christ came so that you can move away from ignorance and from the realm of
darkness to the realm of light. When you have a working knowledge of the word of
God and you have a covenant sense that is rooted in it, certainly you have worked
your way out of the realm of darkness to light.
After reading this material, I pray that God will renew your mind and enlighten your
eyes to the covenant that will transform your life.

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God.” Romans 12:2
Many have been defeated in life all because they don’t have a covenant-sense.
God has promises that covers all you will ever need in this life and beyond and they
are all available to you. Christ has secured a covenant for us, but only few are taking
advantage of all that Christ did for them. You must know the covenant and
consciously build a covenant sense out of it. You must strive to have a working
knowledge of the promises of God.
Your understanding shall be enlightened, no more will you be cheated by the enemy
in Jesus name.

Covenant sense
So, what does it mean to have a covenant sense? It simply means to develop your
mind in seeing the promises of God as a covenant. I want you to start seeing the
promises of God as a covenant. It is not something that is written to give you goose
bumps, it is written so that it can come to manifestation in your life. Your life should be
the manifestation of the scriptures. When people want to see God, once they see you
they should be able to see God.
Having a covenant sense is not just knowing the scriptures or quoting the scriptures, it
is having the mind of Christ, the mind that is covenant-driven. Which means your
attitude towards the scriptures will change. Now, you begin to see the scriptures as
God’s word, God’s covenant(promises) and God’s ways.
Let’s look at the details of what a covenant is.
Covenant means, “a binding agreement between two or more parties,” “it means a
binding promise by one party and a binding action by the second party in which the
terms of the promise is laid out and the parties involved has agreed to act in
accordance.” Covenant is a forceful thing, it is not to be joked with; God is not a
joker and He does not take His covenants lightly. In this study, I would like you to be
seeing the covenant as “the promise of God.” I would be using the word
interchangeably. So, anytime you see the word “covenant,” I want you to think of the
word “the promise of God” and anytime you see “the promise of God” I also want
you to see it as a covenant.
If you start seeing the promises of God as a covenant then you will begin to operate
with covenant sense. God’s promises can also be called God’s covenants. There are
some conditional promises and there are also unconditional promises.
The bible is divided into Old Testament and New Testament. The Old Testament is
referred to by bible scholars as “the covenant of works” while the New Testament is
referred to as “the covenant of grace.” Now you can see that the scriptures is a book
of covenant. Which means every time you are reading the scriptures and seeing the
promises of God, you are already seeing the covenant of God with His people. You
ought to renew your mind with the promises till it becomes your thought; that is when
it can be said that you have a covenant sense.

Why does God enter into covenant with men?
In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have
I given this land… Genesis 15:18
God enters covenant with men when He wants to release His best. God’s blessings,
power and glory are in different measures. Some people are blessed in their lifetime
and when they die the blessing dies with them, their children will have to labour for
their own blessings; while there are some that are blessed and when they die their
blessings remains 100% intact for their children, children’s children etc. When
Abraham died, the blessings did not die with him, it was intact for his posterity.
Another reason why God enters into covenant with men is because He wants to
secure their posterity. The big difference between David and Saul was because God
had a covenant with David and He did not have a covenant with Saul.
“Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of
the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not
have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured:
so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.”
Jeremiah 33:20-22
The covenant that God had with David is what protected and secured him, the
throne and his generation. Even when his children, many generations after him are
not faithful to the covenant of God, mercy was still available to those children. God
was merciful for the sake of the covenant.
Look at what God says concerning David:
“And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan,
saying,
Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD…

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy
seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his
kingdom.
… and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with
the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away
before thee.
And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy
throne shall be established for ever.” 2 Samuel 7:4-5,12-16
David committed many sins, he was not a perfect man yet the covenant preserved
him. His children were not perfect, there were times that they missed it yet the
covenant was sure to preserve the throne. Saul had no covenant and when he made
a mistake, mercy departed from him. If he had a covenant in place, the voice of
mercy would have spoken for him. David had a covenant sense and that was one of
the reasons he succeeded in life.
When the devil enters covenant with people he uses it to trap, to enslave and to
torture them but God is our creator, our Father and everything to us. He derives no
pleasure in doing evil to us. God wants to use His covenant to secure you and your
family.
The covenants of God are all available in the scriptures, anywhere you see the
promises of God you can convert it into covenant of God. God is committed to
performing His words if you are committed to doing what He expects you to do.
Breakthrough is yours, healing is yours, financial prosperity is yours. Good marriage is
yours, long life is yours, and promotion in the office is yours. Victory over the enemy is
yours in Jesus name; it’s all in the promises of God, it’s all in the covenant. Locate the
covenant and start developing a covenant sense.
