of 2.75 million Docker Engine. Users include companies like eBay, Cloudflare, Rackspace, Yandex and Spotify. In
Oct 2014 it acquired Koality Softwares, a software testing company.

build, deploy and manage cloud services. In the DockerCon EU, on 17th Nov 2015, they announced the
integration of unikernels with existing container infrastructure. Unikernels provide many benefits compared to a
traditional OS, including : Improved security properties, Smaller footprints, Fine grained optimization and fast
boot times. Containers and unikernels sit on a continuum. On the one hand, we have the traditional method of
placing a full OS stack in a VM with a single application on top. A natural next step is to use containers which run

Turbo [Seattle, 2015]: Turbo is a developer of software virtualization and container technology. Available as
both a web-based service and on-site server, Turbo.net allows software publishers, enterprises, and schools to
build, test, deploy, and manage desktop application containers instantly to any user with an Internet
connection. Their prodcut TurboStuido is used to convert new and existing applications to virtual applications. It
also has a GUI for packaging application containers.Turbo was designed for the Windows platform and its
containerization system is built on top of the Turbo application virtualization engine.Its Spoon VM plays the
same role for Turbo containers as LXC does for Docker.Turbo, like Docker, supports the use of local containers
and the ability to push and pull containers from a central repository. It is currently registered under Spoon.net -
a virtualization technology platform founded by Kenji. Number of employees is taken from spoon.net as of Nov
2015.
