Experience/Client List
September 1, 2011 - April 28, 2015 Innovative Solutions Unlimited LLC Piketon, Ohio
I worked as a security escort at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. I was in charge of
supervising people who did not have a government clearance. I was responsible for anywhere
from one to five people. I learned patience and vigilance through this job. I obtained a clear back-
ground check, meaning I had a government clearance.
March 9, 2015, - March 27, 2015 The Telegram Jackson, Ohio
. The staff of The Telegram needed a graphic designer for a small period of time. During
my time with this newspaper, I did the layout of pages, worked on advertisements, classifieds,
worked on my first double truck for “Basketball Mania” (which had multiple mini ads for different
companies), and Real Estate pages/guide. My time with The Telegram helped me to establish a
better personal timeline to meet deadlines. I also handled the fast paced environment well and
gained more confidence in myself after working completely alone after one day of instruction.
June 21, 2014-August 16, 2014 Shawn Richendollar Photography Jackson, Ohio
I did an internship where I accompanied Shawn Richendollar to weddings where I took
photographs right along with him. Mr. Richendollar critiqueed my photos after we were done. I
learned many tips and gained great advice during this short period of time.
2014 Sunsational Treasures Fort Myers, Florida
I created a business card for this company that sells handcrafted Spoon Jewelry items. This
was the first time in which there was already a logo in use. I learned how to combine the logo with
an interesting background and a stylish font to give a card that they were happy to use.

The Historic Society hosted a Civil War Reenactment for the town. I was able to take pictures
that were published in a book of the event.
2011 & 2012 Jackson County Health Department Jackson, Ohio
I designed posters for the Health Department’s “Help Me Grow” program that supports
infant immunizations. I made several posters for each month of the year. I made them seasonal,
relatable and motivational. I feel great knowing I did my part to help encourage parents to
immunize their babies.
2010 City Limits Hair Co. Jackson, Ohio
I made business cards for this hair salon. One general card, and one personalized card
for two of the beauticians. This experience helped me learn that not all customers want the same
style of work. I enjoyed meeting each of the four ladies artistic whims.

3. Three artists influence my artwork. Pierre-Auguste Renoir,Walter Elias
Disney and Vincent Van Gogh all affect my work in different ways. Renoir
affects me by using cheerful colors and happy themes. His works challenge
me to consider my viewers feelings and attempt to bring them joy. Disney
affects me by inspiring me to pursue a whimsical, if not a little magical, feeling
in my works. His works remind me to keep things fun.Van Gogh affects me by
encouraging me to keep my art creative. His works took normal scenes and
presented them in cool, abstract ways. I strive to be a combination of the three.
To quote Pierre-Auguste Renoir:“To my mind, a picture should be
something pleasant, cheerful, and pretty! There are too many unpleasant
things in life as it is without creating still more of them.” I value Renoir’s views
and agree with him. I try to exhibit this agreement in my artwork. The artwork I
create is pleasant and peaceful. The viewers are able to almost step inside my
image; to be captivated, feel relaxed, and forget their everyday problems, at
least for a moment in time.
My artwork is cheerful; the pieces reflect the happiness I feel inside from
God’s presence in my life. Using what I have learned as a Christian, I look for
the good in everything. By doing this, my images are uplifting, cheery, and
serene. Rarely will viewers see anything dark, drab, or ho-hum.The colors I
use are radiant; like a burst of energy from the bright morning sun.
The main goal is to entertain the viewers of my art. No one wants to look
at artwork and turn away bored. I put my thoughts, feelings, and very soul into
my pieces. I hope that’s well reflected. I want to do what little I can to spread
happiness on earth.
