2. Introduction
 Tri-National Inc. is a transportation and logistics company that
provides service between the United States, Canada, and
Mexico. Via its Facebook page, Tri-National Inc. recently
posted an article outlining some of the biggest concerns in
the trucking industry for 2016.
The data was collected by the American Transportation
Research Institute (ATRI), who annually conduct a survey of
drivers and motor carriers. The latest list includes these three
concerns.
1. Mandatory Electronic Logging Devices - By December
2017, all commercial drivers keeping a Record of Duty Status
have to use an electronic logging device (ELD) to ensure that
they remain compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) rules.

3. Trucking Industry
 Though ELDS are intended to help carriers and
drivers track HOS compliance, many drivers are
concerned, with 65 percent of survey respondents
worried about the impact the looming deadline will
have on productivity.
2. Parking - According to the ATRI, truck parking
across the country is growing scarcer. As truck
parking becomes harder to find, many drivers are
forced to drive beyond their allowed limit, often
parking in unsafe locations.
3. Poor Infrastructure - Although Congress is
working to fund infrastructure improvement, drivers
are concerned that poor road conditions will not be
remedied quick enough, leading to immediate safety
concerns.
