in futile efforts to
bring peace to the
frontier, to preserve
the aldeia way of life,
and to save her people
from extinction by
settlers.

• She was a nun and
entrepreneur.
• She went against
archbishop rule and did
certain things to benefit
the villagers without his
permission.
• On her death bed she
begged the archbishop for
forgiveness.
• Before she was bed ridden
she fought for special
benefits for her fellow
nuns after she dies.
4. BEATRIZ DE PADILLA
• She was not known for good things.
• She was a mother, but was also a mistress.
• Beatriz was accused of having caused dreadful and
mysterious things to happen to two of her lovers.
• She poisoned one and used “witch craft” to cause the
other one to go crazy.
5. SUMMARY
• All of these women (excluding beatriz de padilla) were
very active women in society.
• They were very passionate about their families and their
people.
• Fought for good.
