1-The IOM project in Niger has just
been launched and is broken down into 3
phases. The goals of the project are:
Monitor three SAR (Search and
Rescue) hub areas to identify paths
used by the migrants, and define the
hotspots' ideal positions.
Analyze the activities in the identified
hotspots, and proceed to a counting of
migration population that are passing
by the area.
Perform searches for rescue missions
to support people in need.
Currently, Youness is preparing the
Albtaross drone to perform missions in
the Dirkou area.
2-We are continuing our work in the
FishGuard project in Sychelles and
currently we are developing an extension
of the QGroundControl software to
integrate satellite communication.

1- Deep Learning training was organized
for the benefit of LSE2I laboratory
members on Friday, March 8th. The aim
was to introduce the notion of deep
learning as well as its areas of application.
2- Local training for doctoral students
in the preparation and piloting of a drone
was held on May 18th in Ain-Sfa area.

Jia'18: 2018 Artificial intelligence day Projects
Artificial Intelligence seems to be acclaimed as the
technological revolution of the day; the one to upset the world
economy. Nevertheless, only 10% of the $16 000 billion
generated by artificial intelligence to the world economy in 2030
will go to the countries of the South according to IDRC report
published on June 14, 2018. (https://www.idrc.ca/en).
Morocco Flying Labs participated in JIA'18: 2018 Artificial
Intelligence Day on 17th November, 2018 with the participation
of various experts and researchers working in AI field.
The main objectives of the day were:
1- Spotlight on AI projects;
2- Discuss and evaluate the impact of AI and its applications on
the development of Southern countries and in particular
Morocco;
3- Initiate projects and partnerships in the field of AI.

Scientific publication: Article 1 is about Air surveillance
planning approach for large areas and Article 2 is about
Detection Process of Ships in Aerial Imagery Using Two
Convnets.
Morocco Flying Labs is currently
working on the following projects:
1-SKYNET project:
Our SKYNET project in partnership
with our industrial Partner ATLAN
Space aims at applying Artificial
Intelligence technology on drones for
institutions to prevent and make
informed decisions regarding
deforestation, floods and
environmental crimes such as illegal
exploitation of natural resources and
forest fires.
2- Fishguard project in
Seychelles: We provide support for
ATLAN Space in the project
FishGuard. The project involves the
implementation of a solution to
identify and reduce IUU fishing
(illegal, unreported, unregulated)
through the detection of fishing
vessels smuggled using intelligent
drone technology.
3- Flight simulator : We are
working at the creation of drone
simulator based on AirSim for our
technology
https://github.com/Microsoft/AirSim.
We need to develop a new drones
simulation environment to be able to
test and deploy the SKYNET project.

4- Our Flying Labs is planning to
organize International workshop
on Robotics & Artificial
Intelligence and their Applications
(RAIA'19) in September, 2019.
This workshop will discuss the
