Camel cigarettes variety Camel Blue, Camel Filter, Camel Silver. Camel Blue is another offshoot of Camel Cigarettes. As smokers’ preference to low tar and nicotine products continued to grow, R.J. Reynolds decided to diversify its product range with lighter cigarettes called Camel Blue
1. Camel is a brand of cigarettes that was introduced by American company R.J. Reynolds Tobacco in the
summer of 1913. Most current Camel cigarettes contain a blend of Turkish tobacco and Virginia tobacco.
Early in 2008 the blend was changed as was the package design.
Are you aware that Camels are made from finer, more expensive tobaccos than any other brand? And
that they stimulate digestion, taste great, and will make you a better swimmer? Failing to teach your
kids to smoke Camels is virtually child abuse! All true, according to the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
We've compiled five of the most outrageous claims from classic Camel ads of the 1930s-50s, from the
peerless archive at the Gallery of Graphic Design. Read them and be educated. Do it for your "T-Zone!"
2. Camel Blue
Camel Blue is another offshoot of Camel Cigarettes. As smokers‟ preference to low tar and
nicotine products continued to grow, R.J. Reynolds decided to diversify its product range with
lighter cigarettes called Camel Blue. Actually first the cigarettes were called Camel Lights.
However after FDA adopted new regulations prohibiting to use the words „Light‟, „Lights‟,
„Ultra Lights‟, „Super Lights‟, R.J. Reynolds had to re-brand their cigarettes using color-coding.
Thus today these cigarettes are called Camel Blue.
Camel Blue has relatively low nicotine and tar level. It is about 0,7 mg of nicotine and 8 mg
of tar. The cigarettes can be a good option for heavy smokers who would like to decrease
gradually the nicotine level in the cigarettes they smoke.
Today it is also possible to buy Camel Blue online at very low prices. Such cigarettes are
produced outside the United States therefore the price is so cheap. There is only one
disadvantage – the delivery time. However the reliable websites with organized logistics network
deliver cigarettes quite fast straight to customers‟ shipping address.
3. Camel Filter
Actually Camel Filter is the first filter line of Camel cigarettes. When Camel was first
introduced on the market in 1913, the cigarettes were unfiltered and the package was soft.
However in 50′s when scientific studies about the possible adverse effect of smoking were
published, manufacturers started to add filters to their cigarettes in order to provide filtration of
toxins when smoking. Since that time cigarettes are called Camel Filter.
Apart of toxin filtration, a filter also provides much smoother smoking. However at first it was
quite difficult for heavy smokers to get used to filter cigarettes. Some of them just decided to roll
their own. However with time smokers‟ interest in low tar products continue to grow so
unfiltered cigarettes gave up their position.
Camel Filter is considered to be one of the strongest cigarette brands. It contains 0,9 mg of
nicotine and 12 mg of tar which is even more than Marlboro Red has. The brand is very popular
among heavy smokers. Camel cigarettes are made of Turkish and American (Virginia) tobacco
blend, therefore it produces a smooth taste when smoking and does not seem to be so strong.
When buying Camel Filter online, it is strongly recommended to look for any references,
feedbacks and reviews of the online cigarette stores as there are a lot scams on Internet.
4. Camel Silver
Camel Silver is one of the lightest brands from Camel cigarettes presented by R.J. Reynolds.
Who are the target consumers of Camel Silver cigarettes? Of course they are women and social
smokers. The cigarettes contain just 0,4 mg of nicotine and 4 mg of tar. Apart of relevantly low
nicotine and tar content, Camel Silver has stylish silver package and pleasant design. These
cigarettes are a good choice for both men and women.
When the production of Camel Silver was launched, the cigarettes had the other name –
Camel Super Lights. However in 2010 FDA adopted new regulations prohibiting to use the
words “Light”, “Lights”, “Super Lighrs”, “Ultra Lights” in the name of cigarette brands. That is
why R.J. Reynolds and other cigarette manufacturers started to use color-coding system.
Camel Silver as any other cigarettes of Camel brand are made of Turkish and American
(Virginia) tobacco blend. However Camel cigarettes sold outside the United States by JT
International do not contain Turkish tobacco, instead they are produced in Romania with local
tobacco.
The majority of online cigarette stores offer to buy Camel Silver produced in Romania and
other countries of Eastern Europe. Therefore the cigarettes are much cheaper than those
produced in United States. The difference between American and European cigarettes is that
European ones are a bit lighter due to the longer filter they have.
5. Package texts
The reverse sides of many packs or boxes of Camel cigarettes display variations of the following
text:
Turkish tobacco is the world's smoothest, most aromatic leaf. Blending it with more robust
domestic tobaccos is the secret to Camel's distinctive flavor and world-class smoothness.
In 2008, this was changed to:
A master-crafted blend of only the finest hand-picked Samsun & Izmir Turkish tobaccos with a
robust domestic tobacco blend creates Camel's distinctive flavor and world-class smoothness.
The reverse side of the five "Turkish Blend" cigarettes display this message along with a
description that differs depending on the blend:
Turkish tobacco is the world's smoothest, most aromatic leaf.
The reverse side of unfiltered "soft pack" Camel cigarettes has displayed this text for many
years, a theme also used by R. J. Reynolds in its advertising as early as 1915:
Don't look for premiums or coupons, as the cost of the tobaccos blended in Camel Cigarettes
prohibits the use of them.
Or alternatively can be seen displaying the text (later removed from some packets with the
introduction of health warning messages):
6. Camel, a premium blend of the finest quality tobaccos, provides genuine smoking pleasure.
The reverse side of unfiltered "soft pack" Camel cigarettes, produced by JT International reads:
CAMEL cigarettes contain a blend of choice Turkish and American tobaccos to bring you full
smoking satisfaction with CAMEL quality.
Camel Wides, starting in 2008, began displaying this on the reverse side of the pack:
The larger gauge of a Camel Wides cigarette makes for the smoothest, most flavorful way to
enjoy Camel's distinctive blend of the finest Turkish and Domestic tobaccos.
