5. PROJECT OVERVIEW
The establishment and construction of a health-
educational, recreational sports and tourism centers
in Central Bosnia.
This is a multi-entity project located in the Koricani
village whose administration consists of the
municipality of Kneževo, an entity of Republika
Srpska, and also the municipalityTravnik, an entity
of the Federation of B&H.
6. PROJECT GOALS
• The main project’s goal is to become an
established part of an already existing
ecologically pure and healthy
environment of mountain ambience,
1100m above sea level.
• There is no trace of urbanization, and
the natural conditions encourage the
fast process of organism acclimatization
with accentuated oxygen and
hemoglobin bonding, and that is a
prerequiste to form the Clinic, and to
form a processes of rehabilitation.
• The mentioned location is the most
attractive for these projects.
8. STAKEHOLDERS
• Universities from Austria andGermany
• Local Universities
• Agencies
• Scientific Institutions.
PROJECT DIRECTION
• Our direction is based on improving the
educational system in accordance with the
Western Balkans market demands, while pursuing
the implementation and improvement of
renewable energy sources, sustainable
agriculture, forestry and tourism.
• The Eco Zone in Central Bosnia will establish the
first International Lighthouse project whose
primary focus is the education and development
of the Western Balkans and its inhabitants.
9. DEMANDED CRITERIA
RECOGNIZED
• Health programs
• Educational programs
• Sports programs
• Tourism programs
• Use of innovative technological and
technical models of sustainable
development practices.
• The primary focus in the planning is to
create an elite educational center in rural
areas that is completely self-sustainable.
10. CONSTRUCTION OF COMPLEX
The construction of this complex is planned to be on the KoricaniVillage
plateau. This area is divided by the entity boarder line and hence ex
tends on both B&H entities with 50:50 ratios.
11. DEMANDED CRITERIA RECOGNIZED
• The complex will cover around 20km2
• There will be made an artificial lake on some 10-
20ha
• Surplus water from the lake would supply a
small hydro-power in the UgarValley and thus
provide an electric-energy self-supply from the
renewable sources for Centre needs.
• Thermal needs will be solved with a
combination of solar panels and biomass, which
will be provided by the local wood sector.
• The complex will buid its own factory for
processing of municipal waste in pyrolysis fuel,
that will esure the delivery of electrical and
thermal energy for the needs of the center.
12. ...
LOCATION HISTORY AND DETAILS
• The KoricaniVillage was damaged and the inhabitants displaced during the last war.
Those that remain are small groups of Serbian and Croat nationality who lack the
numbers, resources, and willpower to improve their future outlook.
• The surrounding villages are inhabited with a combination of all constitutional nations
of B&H.
• Their livelihoods are focused on agriculture, representing this market as a long-lasting
resource.Their knowledge on agriculture can be expanded and the production can be
aimed at eco-food production for the Eco Centre and regional markets.
• The market surplus would be sent to the EU or developing countries.
13. LOCATIONVIABILITY
• Existence of all necessary infrastructure
• Paved roads
• Electric net
• Water supply net
• Geo-strategic location in the region.
LOCATION ADVANTAGES
Advantages of this location in comparison
to other similar locations:
• Equal distance to both mother
municipalities: about 30km
• As well as from two airports: Sarajevo
and Banjaluka – a little over 120km.
• Relative to the regional triangle,
Zagreb-Beograd-Dubrovnik, the
distance to each of them is 330-390km,
giving this location great sustainable
potential.
• Around 5 mill inhabitants live within a
300km radius.
14. With the cooperation of local and foreign experts throughout the
project‘s term, we can offer free education to the inhabitants, creating
conditions for self-employment or discovering another form of
employment in connection with the Project.
This would result in another important aspect of this project, the
branding and expansion of most of the local products such as the
famousVlasic cheese, a local staple for centuries back, as well as
honey, tee and other agricultural products.
We also plan on being the intermediary between financial institutions
and funds, for the project to gain momentum in the right direction,
further enabling coping throughout all B&H.This will ultimately result
in the development of the rural areas with traditional production,
maintaining their culture, while giving extra support to the rural
population’s economy.
