Igreja
O que é igreja?
A igreja primitiva
O que significa a palavra igreja ?
Jesus afirma em Mateus 16.18: “Edificarei a minha igreja”.
A palavra igreja, nesta frase, tem origem no grego
ekklêsia (εκκλησία) cujo significado original consiste
em um grupo de cidadãos chamados e reunidos, visando
um propósito específico. No NT, a palavra igreja passou a
referir-se aos chamados para fora do mundo,do pecado e
da vida alienada de Deus, os quais, mediante a obra de
Cristo na cruz, foram reunidos como uma comunidade de
fé que compartilha das bênçãos e responsabilidades de
servir ao Senhor.
ORIGEM DA IGREJA
Nascimento da igreja.
A igreja de Cristo teve
início com um movimento
de caráter mundial, no Dia
de Pentecostes, cinquenta
dias após a ressurreição, e
dez dias depois da
ascensão de Jesus Cristo .
Lc 24.49-51; At 2.1-4
O Dia de Pentecostes
O CRESCIMENTO DA IGREJA
O crescimento da igreja primitiva
registrado no livro de Atos dos
Apóstolos merece toda a nossa
atenção, principalmente pelo fato
daquela igreja não possuir muitos
recursos como dinheiro, meios de
transportes (carro e avião), meios
de comunicação (rádio, televisão,
internet), grandes templos,
grandes pregadores da mídia,
bons músicos e cantores, mega
produções evangélicas, sem
esquecer que a igreja era bastante
perseguida.
A IGREJA CRESCIA DE MODO ESPANTOSO
O crescimento da igreja era de certo
modo espantoso. Em Atos 1:15 diz que
o grupo inicial que era de cerca de
120 crentes, elevou-se para quase
3.000 crentes, com o discurso de
Pedro, no Dia de Pentecostes (At
2.41.) Quando lemos At 4.4 temos a
informação de que o número de
crentes já alcançou quase 5.000. Em
fim, a igreja continuou crescendo
cada vez mais, como diz At 5.14: “ e
cada vez mais se agregavam crentes
ao Senhor em grande número tanto
de homens como de mulheres”.
O discurso de Pedro no
Dia de Pentecostes.
QUAIS OS MOTIVOS DESSE CRESCIMENTO ?
Perseveravam na doutrina
dos apóstolos.
Por isso nós também, sem
cessar, damos graças a Deus,
porquanto vós, havendo
recebido a palavra de Deus que
de nós ouvistes, a recebestes,
não como palavra de homens,
mas como palavra de Deus, a
qual também opera em vós que
credes. 1Ts 2.13
Perseveravam na comunhão
e no partir do pão.
Todos os que criam estavam
unidos e tinham tudo em
comum.
At 2.44
Perseveravam na
oração.
E, perseverando unânimes
todos os dias no templo.
At 2.46
A igreja tinha temor.
Pelo que, recebendo nós um
reino que não pode ser
abalado, retenhamos a
graça, pela qual sirvamos a
Deus agradavelmente, com
reverência e temor.
Hb 12.28
O poder da igreja era
manifestado através de
sinais e maravilhas.
Disse-lhe Pedro: Não tenho
prata nem ouro; mas o que
tenho, isso te dou; em nome
de Jesus Cristo, o
nazareno, anda.
At 3.6
A PERSEGUIÇÃO DA IGREJA E SUA
EXPANSÃO.
A perseguição da igreja
e sua expansão.
Na perseguição iniciada
com a morte de Estevão, a
igreja em Jerusalém
dispersou-se por várias
regiões, como Judéia,
Galiléia, Samaria, Fenícia,
Chipre e Antioquia.

A igreja primitiva era
sustentada por quatro
colunas
No livro de Atos dos Apóstolos,
Lucas revela um modelo de vida
cristã baseada em quatro
pontos básicos:
“... E perseveravam na
doutrina dos apóstolos e na
comunhão, no partir do pão e
nas orações”.
At 2.42
1º Coluna: A doutrina dos
apóstolos
Os ensinamentos dos apóstolos
permitiu uma nova visão acerca
da Bíblia. Os primeiros cristãos
romperam com o ensino dos
escribas, doutores da época, e
seguiam agora o testemunho dos
apóstolos que eram considerados
sem instrução (At 4.13). Os novos
fiéis consideravam a doutrina dos
apóstolos como a Palavra de Deus
(1 Ts 2.13). A autoridade dos
apóstolos era comprovada pelos
muitos milagres que faziam.
2ª Coluna da igreja: A
comunhão
Os cristãos da igreja primitiva
possuíam sentimentos e
experiências em comum, com
base no amor mútuo. Também
preocupavam-se com aqueles
mais necessitados (At 4.32, Rm
15.26). Desta maneira, cumpriam
a Lei de Deus que diz: “ ... não
haverá entre ti pobre algum...”
(Dt 15.4). Essa comunidade
venceu as barreiras da religião,
classe social, sexo e raça (Gl
3.28).
3ª Coluna da igreja:
A Ceia do Senhor.
A comunhão que os cristãos
desfrutavam, no partir do pão,
acrescentava-lhes mais amor aos
vossos corações, ao lembrar-se
do sacrifício de Jesus,
simbolizado pela Santa Ceia (1 Co
11.23-26; At 20.7). Era uma
ocasião de grande adoração e
reflexão acerca da morte e da
próxima vinda de Jesus,
promovendo a unidade e a
comunhão do corpo de Cristo.
4ª Coluna da igreja: As
orações.
Através da oração, os cristãos
permaneciam unidos entre si e
a Deus (At 5.12b), e se
fortaleciam em meio as
perseguições (At 4.23-31).
