MOU SIGNED ON – 12th December 2010
• The purpose of this MOU is to enable cooperation
between AIT and UGI for enhancing academic
standards and research through
• Faculty exchange
• Student Exchange
• Running Joint Programmes

5. THE SCOPE
• Long and short term exchange between AIT and UGI
students & faculty
• Joint research and consultancy projects
• Running Joint degree/certificate programmes
• Setting up AIT study centre in India

6. About AIT
Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), is an international institution for
higher education in Bangkok the capital of Thailand.
It specializes in engineering, advanced technologies, sustainable
development, and management and planning.
AIT has been consistently ranked the top university in the world for its
"International Orientation.“
In 2019, it was the only university from Asia to get a perfect score in
international orientation
Though AIT is based in Thailand, only 30 percent local students are from
Thailand and 70 percent of its students come from abroad.

7. Short term Student Exchange Programme with
AIT
a. 75 students from various disciplines will be selected across
the institutes of UGI.
b. They shall be spending 14-15 days in Bangkok, taking up a
course and visiting industries/organizations. There may be
two different courses running in parallel for engineering &
management students.
c. Each of the students will submit a project/training report
within 10/15 days of his/her return to India.

d. AIT Bangkok will design and offer a suitable course, and will
plan and organise industrial and other orientation visits.
e. On completion of the course, a certificate of completion will
be awarded to all the students who complete the course
successfully.
f. During the course of their stay, the students will reside at AIT
hostels.

9. Short term Student Exchange Programme with
AIT
- Duration of the course
30 hours
- Course Content
A Multidisciplinary specialized course will be designed on contemporary
subjects that are not covered in AKTU, syllabus (Eg. Cloud Computing,
Mechatronics, Advanced Geo Informatics, Machine learning, Internet
Marketing etc.) with prime focus on student’s field of specialization.
- Deliverables beyond classroom teaching
Beyond the classroom teaching, students will also be given exposure to
state of the art AIT labs and world class facilities of at least 2 prominent
industrial set ups in Bangkok
- Equivalence of the course
This 30 hour certificate course will also be equivalent to 2 credits as per
University system (highly beneficial while applying for higher studies
abroad)

ELIGIBILITY

11. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Step 1:
All the eligible students will fill an online form via dedicated link, present
on our group’s official website.
( Be ready with all your details i.e. exact marks of 10th, 12th & graduation
along with the colour soft copy of your present photo and soft copy of
AKTU one view marksheet, High School & Intermediate)
Step 2:
After the submission, scrutiny & verification of the form, an online test will
be conducted for all the students testing their quantitative, aptitude and
verbal skills.
Step 3:
On the basis of students Academic record and Performance in the online
test, a final merit list will be prepared after a short PI.

12. Sponsorship through UGI
Total no. of UGI students to be selected for visit to AIT, Bangkok –
75
• 85% sponsorship from UGI (including course fee, to and fro travel,
Visa, breakfast and stay for 15 days in AIT campus) – 25 students
Net amount payable – Rs. 15,000/-
• 65% sponsorship from UGI (including course fee, to and fro travel,
Visa, breakfast and stay for 15 days in AIT campus) – 25 students
Net amount payable – Rs. 35,000/-

13. Sponsorship through UGI
• 45% sponsorship from UGI (including course fee, to and fro
travel, Visa, breakfast and stay for 15 days in AIT campus) – 25
students
Net Amount Payable – Rs. 55,000/-
Note – Food has to be purchased by students on their own.
Indian and other cuisines are available in AIT campus on
subsidized rates
