3. Back in 2018
Cameroon Flying Labs was created in September 2018. We discovered and were introduced to
WeRobotics activities through social media, and we found their drone activities in Africa quite
interesting. It was our first time to see a NGO performing drone activities in Cameroon. That’s when
we contacted WeRobotics to co-create Cameroon Flying Labs.
Our team is made of 6 young people: Willams Elong, Louis Ekani, Corrali, Paul, Brandone and I.

6. Using Drone for Mapping swampy areas for
risk analysis:
The Power of Local
Mapping of swampy areas for risk analysis during the raining season, causing flood in the
littoral region of Cameroon: We took pictures of the area with the drone to identify the
inhabited area at risk. Assisted by the chief of that locality and his assistant, on 8 June
2019 at Bepanda, Douala, Cameroon.
7. The Problem:
swampy area
represents a huge risk
for those living in this
area due to over
raining. The people who
live there, are unaware
of this danger.
The Power of Local
8. SOLUTION:
Mapping the
swampy area and
taking imagery
using drones, and
create awareness
about the risk
when there is rain
The Power of Local
9. Challenges:
Access to the area,
sensiblise the community,
acces to drone compatible
with Pix4D mapper,
training local operators for
set-up, regular flights, and
troubleshooting,
precision landing in small
areas.
