 Developing good practices in the use of ICT and
digital media for the development of learning-
to-learn competencies to support young people
and their teachers in the transition from SE to HE
 3 working groups exploring 3 areas:
 social networks,
 digital media, serious games and virtual worlds and
 ePortfolios and blogs
 Social media use as key to support the project
itself (videoconferencing, Google docs, Facebook,
Youtube)
Introduction and Background
 Dedication, autonomy and discipline
 Lack of ICT skills (“I don’t know how…”)
 Lack of profiles or fear of mixing personal and
professional social networking (not so much with
learners, more so with teachers)
 Verba volant, scripta manent (written text is more
formal and permanent than spoken words)
 Mostly asynchronous collaboration
 Language
 Resources…? Free tools are available
Specific challenges in EU projects
 Plan, delegate, control and monitor
 Survey partners’ ICT skills and find suitable tools or
train those lacking the necessary basics
 Don’t overcomplicate
 Respect personal reservation, exploit personal skills
and competences (Tweeters, Facebook users,
bloggers, etc.)
 Encourage and engage your audience (fun posts,
simple questions, helpful attitude)
 Strive to be multilingual (and multicultural)
 Find the appropriate tools and services and budget
them in advance (if needs be)
Advice to LLP partners / managers
