Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager
Manage all processes and functions of a large food warehouse (Area - 50000sqft, 11500 pallet position),
direct and coordinate activities of 125 staff engaged in managing the Inventory control, Warehousing,
and distribution management function in an efficient, cost effective way to meet customer demands with
minimum interruptions to service, reporting to Distribution Centre Manager.
• Manages and controls storage and distribution activities of the company to ensure maximum
utilization of facilities.
• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and
enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Effectively managing vehicle and fleet resources to ensure deliveries reach customers on time
• Manage and review stock levels. Plan for future requirements based on orders, schedules and
forecasts. Conduct frequent partial physical inventory audits to verify accuracy of computer
records, conduct a complete physical inventory count annually
• Advice employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and distributed, on
methods for handling, storing, maintaining and distributing stock and on use of equipment.
• Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non usable, slow-moving and
excess stock.
• Review records to determine accuracy of information, compliance with established procedures
and adequacy of stock levels.
• Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock-
control records, and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
• Assign duties and examined work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and
procedures.
