What is The World Bank eLibrary? All World Bank flagships and annual publications (WDR, WDI, etc.). These flagship reports includethe World Development Report (which is currently about the role of Gender Equality), the WDI, which is the written report that accompanies the new release of the data each year, Doing Business, which ranks the ease of Doing Business in developing countries, and several publications that track progress towards the Mill. Dev. Goals.
Many publications in eLibrary are used as course materials in graduate programs.
The World Bank’s mission is to achieve a world without poverty. In order to reach this goal, we conduct research across a broad range of topics and areas that have an impact on poverty. As you can see, there is great breadth and depth of coverage.

Here we’re looking at the Browse Book Series Page. You can get here by clicking on the link on the right hand side. Once you’re on the page, the breadcrumbs appear at the top to you’ll always know where you are or how to get back. This is the Atlas of Global Development series. This is one of the World Bank’s most popular series. It’s perfect for middle school and up. You can Re-sort by Date or Title and change the number of search results Displayed.You can easily go straight to the PDF;you can click on the right to show or hide the abstract; AND you check the boxes near the titles you want to add to your Favorites.
This is an Abstract page for a publication. From this page, you can email it, bookmark it, share it with others, go straight to the PDF Email Abstracts. Details about each title include publication date, ISBN, DOIs, and related content.
Advanced Search searches full text and metadata and allows you to search, filter, and narrow your criteria a number of ways including by region, topic, content type, and date.

Here are just some of our most recent flagships – the latest World Development Reports, for example have focused on Gender, Conflict, and Climate Change. We also have the latest Atlas of Global Development, Doing Business, Global Economic Prospects and World Development Indicators (the written report that accompanies the release of the new data each year).
Here are some recent titles on the Global Financial Crisis, as well as natural disasters, farmland, civil war, and the changing wealth of nations. The latest edition of the Guide to the World Bank is also available for those who are interested in learning more about what the Bank does and how it is structured.
Users may register for a Personal account with allows them to take full advantage of the tools in eLibrary, such as Saved Searches, Bookmarking their favorites, and content alerts.
Once logged in, users will see all the options on the right. Librarians may wish to promote these tools to encourage more frequent and long-term use of eLibrary.
Once users are registered, they can save content and their searches for future reference and convenience. You can easily add or remove items from folders or send yourself an email of your search history that you can forward to others.
You can easily create folders for multiple projects. Simply click on the title and select or create a new folder.
As you mark titles from abstracts or search results, they go into your Favorites folder. You can Print, Export, email or organize all of your favorites.
Customize Your Alerts by Topic, Region, or Content Type. You can also set the frequency of the alerts.
Both MARC records and Metadata is updated monthly. In addition, The World Bank is partnering with many Search & Discovery services such as Primo Central, EBSCO A to Z, Summons, and Serial Solutions.You can find general information about COUNTER-compliant usage reports and uploading your institution’s logo.
