3. OUTLINE OF WRITING 3 Description of lecture This course aims at developing a competency of students wrting in academic genre. Its covers types of sentences, sentence problems, paragraphs, and essays. In addition to that, note taking, paraphrasing and summarizing are also taught and discussed. All these topics are required by students at a university level in order to be able write argumentative essays and research papers.
4. STANDARD COMPETENCY Students understand the notion of academic wiriting, identify the tone of academic writing, rethorical organization of wrting and also aplly these skills in writing academic discourse.
5. BASIC COMPETENCY 1. Students are able to organize a good writing 2. Students are able to organize good paragraph 3. Students are able to make outline before make a unity paragraph 4. Students are able to make a coherence paragraph 5. Students are able to make a paragraph using examples and statistic 6. Students are able to quote, paraphrase and summarize the paragraph 7. Students are able to organize an essay

7. METHOD AND REQUIREMENT The students in this class should be actively involved in the learning process, inside and outside the classroom. The Lecturer will give three steps: A. Pre-test B. Treatment C. Post-Test
8. EVALUATION Each students will be assessed on the basis of his/her performance on the following: Middle Semester Test Pre-Test and Post Test Final Semester Test Class Participation and Activities More than 4times absences without permission you will failed your subject.
