• Shanghai is the biggest city and the commercial and
  financial center of China, with a land area of 6,340 square
  kilometers and a population of 20 million people.

• As China 's most populous metropolis, Shanghai has been
  snoozing for the past few decades. Now, it is more alive
  than ever. It is an entrepreneur city of 2010 World Expo.

  years ago.

  Dynasty, when it began to rise as a trading port.

  significance to the economy of the Republic of China in 1927.

• the foreign concessions in Shanghai were returned to China in
  1945 after Anti-Japanese War.

• liberated from Kuomingtang(Nationalist Party) rule on May
  27th ,1949 and CCP controlled the city.

• commercial revival took place in Shanghai with the advent of
  Deng Xiaopeng's open door policy in 1978
