5. Seminal Vesicle,
Prostate Gland,
and Cowper’s Gland
are all active in producing fluids which serve as
nourishment for the sperm and lubrication for the duct.
“ The fluids secreted by this glands and the
sperm form the fluid called semen ”.
6. Vas Deferens
“ From the epididymis, the
sperm cells travel through
another tube, called vas deferens
“.
it receives sperm cells, carries them up, and
delivers them into the urethra.
7. Epididymis
it is a very long, coiled tube where the sperm
cells travel when they’re undergo maturation.
8. Testes
s
the main organ of the male reproductive system;
pair of spherical glands located in a pouch that
hangs outside of a male’s body;
at puberty, it produce sperm and male sex hormone
called testosterone.
9. Urethra
“ The passage of semen through the
urethra occurs by a process called
ejaculation “.
it is a tube that runs through the penis;
the passageway for urine and sperm that leave the
male’s body.
10. Penis
the male organ of copulation;
covered by a fold of skin called
foreskin;
it’s tip is called glans.
“ The foreskin may be removed when the
baby is born or during adolescence. This is called
circumcision“.
11. Adolescence
A boy may experience a
discharge of semen while asleep. This
is known as wet dreams. Having wet
dreams is normal for boys undergoing
adolescence.

13. Ovary
the main organ of the female
reproductive system
oval in shape and located in the
lower part of the abdomen
produce the female sex cells
called eggs or ova and likewise
secrete the female sex hormones,
estrogen and progesterone
14. Estrogen and Progesterone
these hormones are responsible for the development
of female secondary characteristics, such as the
development of the breasts, broadened pelvis, and
female pattern of fat distribution.
they also play a large role in the menstrual cycle.
15. At birth, the eggs are
already formed in the ovaries.
These immature eggs are
enclosed in the follicles.
16. A follicle is a bubble- like
structure that stores and
protects the eggs until they
mature at puberty.
17. When a girl reaches
puberty at ages 11-14, a fully
developed egg is released from
either of the ovaries. This
process is called ovulation.
18. A female have three outside
openings between the legs.
These openings are the:
vagina
urethra
anus
19. Vagina
is also known as birth canal
it is between the anus and
urethra
it is a 3 to 4 inch passageway or
canal inside the female
it is protected by folds of skin
known as the vulva
20. Cervix
found in the
interior end of the
vagina
a short canal
which leads to the
uterus
21. Uterus
is where the baby
develops and not in
the stomach as some
people think
22. Fallopian tube
the passageway that
conveys the ovum to the
uterus
“As the ovum moves
along the fallopian tube,
fertilization or the union of
the egg and sperm can
happen”.

23. Adolescence
Adolescence is the time between
childhood and adulthood. This is often
referred to as the teenage years. The onset of
puberty generally marks the beginning of
adolescence. Puberty is the state of physical
development marking the beginning of one’s
reproductive cycle, which means a girl or a
boy is capable of producing children.
24. When a girl reaches puberty, one egg
matures around every 28 days. Each time an
egg in ovary matures, the wall of the womb or
uterus, called the endometrium becomes thick
and spongy with many blood vessels, in
preparation for the arrival of the fertilized egg.
If the
25. egg is not fertilized because there is no contact
with sperm, the egg dies. The thickened lining
of the uterus breaks up and comes out with
blood through the birth canal or vagina. The
process is called menstruation.
27. The onset of the first menstruation
called menarche happens at different
times among girls. Some girls start at an
early age of 11 while others start to
menstruate at an older age of 16. a woman
stops having menstrual periods around the
age of 45-55. this is the stage of life called
menopause.
28. For some girls, menstruation is
accompanied with cramps or pain and
some discomfort in the lower back and
abdomen. This discomfort is known as
dysmenorrhea. This may be alleviated
with exercise and proper diet.
